Samsung has recently started the Stable One UI 6.0 update rollout to the Galaxy S23 series. In addition, Samsung has now introduced a new One UI 6 security tool for Galaxy users – Auto Blocker – that is designed to keep their devices protected.

The One UI 6-powered Auto Blocker is an opt-in package of additional security measures, giving users more choices as they explore the customizations enabled by Samsung Galaxy’s open ecosystem. Using the Auto Blocker, Galaxy users can continue to enjoy the benefits of Samsung’s open ecosystem.
Sideloading
Preventing app installations from unauthorized sources, commonly known as sideloading, is one of Auto Blocker’s features. When enabled, it can provide additional peace of mind by stalling the rise of social engineering attacks like voice phishing, where attackers could talk users into installing malicious software.

App Security Checks
In addition, Auto Blocker has a range of additional controls, including App Security Checks. It helps detect potential malware and prevent harmful commands and software installations by USB cable. This can help protect users in a situation where someone has physical access to their device.
Notably, Samsung will gradually rollout the Auto Blocker feature to all Galaxy devices compatible with One UI 6.0.
Samsung has initiated the rollout of the highly anticipated One UI 6.1 update for its flagship devices, starting from March 28. While owners of older flagship models such as the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 eagerly await the One UI 6.1 update, a report suggests it will arrive in early April, possibly within the first few days of the month.
According to the Canadian network carrier Rogers, a new update with the March 2024 patch will be released for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones on 10 April 2024. In addition to the security patch, the update is expected to include One UI 6.1.

However, Samsung has not yet made any official announcement about the One UI 6.1 rollout for these devices. It’s worth noting that Galaxy AI features will not be released for the Galaxy S22 series, Fold 4, and Flip 4. But Samsung announced to consider the inclusion of Galaxy AI features for the Galaxy S22 series.
