One UI 6.0 vs. 5.1: Uncovering the Striking Transformation in Notification and Quick Panel
Samsung’s latest One UI skin brings a redesigned Quick Panel. Compared to the One UI 5.1, the Notification and Quick Panel of One UI 6.0 look way better and clean. And some minor user interface tweaks offer an intuitive user experience and easier access.
Notification Panel:
Since both screenshots are taken in Light mode setting, anyone can easily spot the difference. At first, the bright color of the Notification Panel got dim, resulting in a clean and vibrant interface.
Rather than the section, UI elements got bright to better showcase the section. In One UI 5.1, the clock can be seen at the top left corner, which is aligned before the Day, and Date in One UI 6.0.

Quick Panel:
Talking about the Quick Panel, the differences are huge. One UI 5.1 version has quick settings toggles in the basic manner. However, the elements are well-organized in the new One UI 6.0 software.
The first row consists of two large tiles for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. After that, there’s a large square section, which has a total of 12 toggles, with users can access more toggles through the pagination function.
Next to the second section, the third row has a large rectangular space, which consists of the Brightness slider as well as the Eye comfort shield and Light/Dark mode toggles. At last, two large tiles are aligned to incorporate:
- Smart View
- Device control.

One UI 6.0 Update
Samsung will unveil the new One UI 6.0 software at this year’s Developers Conference next month. It’s likely that the Galaxy S23 series will begin getting the Stable Android 14 update in late October. Within 2023, all eligible Galaxy devices are expected to be updated with the new software.
For any smartphone maker, it’s not possible to provide users with never-ending software support. With Android 13, various Samsung devices ended major upgrade support, and the same happened with One UI 6.0 for a handful of Samsung smartphones.
This year, popular Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series won’t receive the One UI 6.0. Both lineups have finished their striking era of continuous software upgrades, still, an additional year of security patches is remaining.

Samsung has always remained the king of after-sales services to Galaxy consumers. Presently, the company provides up to four years of major OS upgrades, which will be extended further for the time being. It has also raised the bar of security updates to five years, letting consumers keep their phones longer.

Samsung delivered the One UI 5.1 upgrade to all flagship smartphones upgraded to the Android 13-based One UI 5.0. The new version means more new features, and there’s no exception with the One UI 5.1 software system.
Customization is at its peak level on the One UI 5.1 and the upgraded capabilities of Good Lock (and family) make you wow! Screenshots no longer collide with photos captured by the camera and creating a cutout of the object is as simple as copying a text!

Recently, it was rumored that Samsung is going to rebrand Exynos as Dream Chip. In a recent development, it has been reported that Samsung Semiconductor disclosed Exynos is not rebranding to Dream Chip anytime soon.
In addition, the company’s semiconductor decision revealed that Dream Chip is an internal project name. Earlier, Samsung formed a Dream Team to research a chipset tailor-made for flagship Galaxy devices.

If Dream Chip is an internal project name, the existence of a Galaxy-exclusive chipset just confirmed. However, it will take time for the company to finally commercialize the processor on Galaxy smartphones.
“All rumors regarding rebranding are not true,” Samsung Semiconductor told us in response to AndroidAuthority’s follow-up question.
Samsung has been working to roll out the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update for more eligible Galaxy devices. At the moment, a new One UI 6 testing build has appeared for the Galaxy A52s 5G smartphone on the Checkfirm platform.
According to a report by @tarunvats33, the new One UI 6 testing build for Samsung Galaxy A52s has been spotted on Samsung’s internal test server in India. This means that the Korean tech giant could soon start pushing the official One UI 6.0 update to the Galaxy A52s.
The firmware version of the testing build is A528BXXU5FWK8, which indicates that Samsung is almost ready to roll out the stable version of One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy A52s 5G users in India.
One UI 6 is based on Android 14, which is the latest version of Google’s operating system. It brings new features such as Material You design, a privacy dashboard, scrolling screenshots, and more. Samsung also adds its own tweaks and enhancements to One UI 6, such as redesigned widgets, improved camera app, enhanced dark mode, and more.
