As part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, which lands on May 18, Samsung reiterated its commitment to helping those who could benefit from sounds amplification. To mark this day, Samsung is bringing updated Ambient Sound feature to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
According to the info, Samsung will release a new firmware update to the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which will install the updated Ambient Sound feature. Previously available at three levels of customization, the updated version adds two additional levels, offering five levels of amplification.
Thanks to the enhanced Ambient Sound, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro users will be able to fine-tune Ambient Sound settings across a variety of needs using the Galaxy wearable app.
Moreover, users can adjust the volumes on the left and the right respectively, as well as customize their Ambient Sound tone range from soft to clear across five different stages.
Additionally, Ambient Sound can tune to a user’s ears through the Adapt Ambient Sound feature, allowing for even more clarity in helping users hear the world around them better.
“We are excited to be introducing the new enhanced accessibility feature of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro to users on Global Accessibility Awareness Day,” said Han-gil Moon, Master and Head of Advanced Audio Lab, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.
The enhanced Ambient Sound feature will be progressively released on Galaxy Buds2 Pro via software updates in the coming weeks.
Sounds amplification can be accessed in the Laboratory menu under Earbuds settings in the Galaxy Wearable app. Requires a Galaxy smartphone with Android 8.0 later and 1.5GB RAM or above. The feature only can be enabled and controlled through the Galaxy Wearable, available on the Google Play Store.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Revolutionizes Running with University of Michigan Partnership
Thanks to Samsung’s research partnership, the Galaxy Watch 6 revolutionizes running with the University of Michigan Exercise & Sport Science Initiative. This collaboration is launched to help runners manage their health and physical activity by providing more reliable and accurate data.
The Michigan Performance Research Laboratory (MiPR) — ESSI’s core research lab — will oversee an eight-month study that uses the Galaxy Watch series to estimate the VO2 max and sweat loss of participants as they run.
The study will compare reference data against smartwatch data from both indoor (treadmill) and outdoor running trials of different distances, from 2.5km to 20km.
Runners at all levels grapple with sweat loss, dehydration and heat management, particularly during the summer months. Samsung and University of Michigan teams hope the study’s findings will further enhance smartwatch technology, giving runners more accurate measurements of their health metrics.
