After Galaxy S23, Samsung has kicked off a new update with May 2023 security patch for another S series – the Galaxy S22. Right now, the latest software is rolling out for Galaxy S22 models in Brazil.
The new update installs the latest Android patch to improve system security. In addition, it brings stability optimization, bug fixes, and functional enhancements to provide a smoother and error-free experience.
As per the details, May 2023 security patch fixes over 70 security flaws including 4 critical, 48 high, and 3 moderate levels of common vulnerability exposures.
Users of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones can identify the May 2023 security update via the One UI firmware versions S901EXXS4CWD5, S906EXXS4CWD5, and S908EXXS4CWD5 respectively.

The installation package size of the latest update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone is around 340 MB. You can connect your device with Wi-Fi to install this update by visiting the Software Update section under Settings and then Press Download and install option.
It is just an incremental monthly update so it does not contain any new features or improvements apart from security maintenance. Samsung is initially rolling out this update in Brazil and the company will soon expand to Galaxy S22 models in more markets.
In late April 2023, Samsung pushed the second April 2023 security update for the Galaxy S22 series. Through this major update, the company brought an Image clipper feature and camera improvements.

Samsung is releasing the September 2023 update for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones in India. The new update installs the latest security patch to improve system security and stability.
September 2023 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in India arrives with the One UI build version mentioned below.

- Galaxy S22 Ultra – S908EXXS7CWH6
The installtion package size of this update is 389.60MB. This update focuses mainly on security fixes and does not introduce any new features or changes. According to the changelog, the update fixes over 60 issues found in smartphones and tablets in the previous version.

Samsung Galaxy S20 series getting a massive firmware update in the US

Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, which comes with a big-size installation package of 1.3GB. The update installs the August 2023 security patch to improve system security.
However, the changelog of this update does not include any new feature or change except system security maintenance, stability optimizations, and bug fixes. Moreover, it updates several stock apps including Samsung Notes Add-ons, Galaxy Wearable, Kids, Notes, Health, SmartThing, Members, Wallet, Calculator, and Smart Switch to the latest version.

Samsung is pushing a new update with the September 2023 security update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones in Brazil. This update is already available in the US, Canada, and Europe.
