Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic equips Physical Rotating Bezel
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be equipped with a physical rotating bezel. The company managed to release both rotating bezel and touch bezel smartwatches until the Galaxy Watch 4, but it ditched the physical rotating bezel with the Galaxy Watch 5 lineup.
A reliable tipster said that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 lineup’s top model returns to a physical rotating bezel. The same source earlier revealed that there will be Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, in which the Classic is replacing the Pro branding.
In addition, Ice pointed out that the Watch 6 Classic will have a narrow bezel, hinting at a slimmer rotating bezel than the Watch 4 Classic. This way, the company can spotlight the difference between both models of its next smartwatch lineup, which was reduced last year.
On a device with a rotating bezel, the bezel is a physical controller, which rotates along the outer edge of the display and the user interface reacts to the rotation of the bezel. The user interacts with the device by rotating the bezel or touching the screen.
Earlier, the Chinese certification site listed all Galaxy Watch 6 series models, revealing the dial size and battery capacity. Since there’s a single variant of the Watch 5 Pro, it’s not the same case with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and it could be available in 42mm and 46mm dial sizes.
- Watch 6 40mm: 300mAh
- Watch 6 Classic 42mm: 300mAh
- Watch 6 44mm: 425mAh
- Watch 6 Classic 46mm: 425mAh
Back in 2021, the company ditched its conventional Tizen OS operating system from the Galaxy Watch lineup. The Watch 4 series was the first to run One UI Watch based on Google’s Wear OS wearable platform. It’s confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 6 will also run Wear OS with further optimizations.

Samsung’s Wear OS watches could soon get standalone RCS support
Your Samsung Galaxy Watch could soon get standalone RCS support. Google is preparing to roll out standalone RCS to Wear OS smartwatches with a future Messages app update. Galaxy Watch users will also benefit alongside Pixel Watch users.
EU forced Apple to adopt the RCS messaging standard in its iOS. The decision brought rich communication standard features into the limelight. Now, Google is working to enhance RCS usability on its Wear OS platform.
AndroidAuthority discovered some flags within Google Messages v20240926, suggesting standalone RCS arrival on Wear OS. The addition of new flags suggests that the company is preparing to roll out independent RCS support.
At present Wear OS doesn’t support native RCS messaging on watches. You need to keep your watch paired to the smartphone to send and receive messages. An updated Google Messages version would address the support concern.
Google Messages on Wear OS indeed has a relatively smaller user base than Android. Since smartwatches have small screens, users refrain from typing longer text while replying, still, it’s a welcome move slated to end lack of support.
The move is to make Google Messages function the same as WhatsApp. The latter is available as a native application on Wear OS, whereas Google Messages on Wear OS essentially mirrors the Google Messages app on your phone.

Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy Wearable app, which enhances its user interface and overall functionality. This app helps you manage your wearable devices and track their features right from your phone.
The latest update introduces a new look for the Watch settings interface. The new layout allows for quicker navigation and better access to your favorite settings as the update brings major changes.
