A clever tipster named Ice Universe has managed to share a picture captured from Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP camera. At a glance, you might think that photo is clicked through Samsung’s telephoto camera at 5x or 10x zoom. But the reality is different.

Ice claims that the picture (mentioned below) is captured through the 200MP camera of the forthcoming Samsung flagship smartphone and it has been later zoomed in at 12x and cropped using a photo editor.

The tipster does not mention the technique of capturing that picture nor he has named the photo editor that has been used here. However, the picture does clarify that the 200MP camera of the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone is too good that the image looks stunning even after 12x zooming.
It’s worth mentioning that the device uses Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor that has the capability to capture flawless photos with extraordinary clarity. It features a large f/1.65 aperture that offers more light to capture bright pictures even in low-light environments.
Samsung’s rumored 4+4 flagship strategy includes the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy Z TriFold 2 for 2027. After rumors of a new Pro model, a Korean industry report signals the second-generation tri-fold phone has joined the pipeline.
Samsung’s 4+4 flagship strategy
Galaxy S27 Pro could make the Galaxy S a 4-product lineup in 2027. It will help the company target an even broader consumer base. However, it’s a move inspired by Apple’s well-known yearly iPhone product lineup.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold 2 could make the Galaxy Z a 4-product range. ETNews reports that Samsung has started preparations to launch the sequel to the TriFold in 2027. That said, Samsung could bring four foldables next year.
Galaxy Z TriFold 2 rumors
An industry report claims that the Korean tech giant has shared information about the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 with its partners and entered the early development phase.
A source familiar with the matter claims that Samsung is preparing four foldable models for next year, including a successor to the Z TriFold. While specs aren’t finalized, the screen size is expected to be similar to the OG model.
The 2nd TriFold could come with a chipset similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The screen size and battery capacity may remain the same as the original model. We may see improvements in the weight and thickness of the device.
Galaxy Z TriFold landed as a luxury yet limited availability model this year. The company only reportedly produced roughly 30,000 units. The scale of sales may expand for the 2027 model, with iPhone Ultra also entering the segment.

Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra come with lower battery cycle ratings than their predecessors. Samsung’s new foldable phones introduce a significant battery upgrade, but the EU’s EPREL label tells a different story.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra are rated for 1,200 battery charge cycles. This is a decrease of 800 cycle counts from last year. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 batteries carry 2,000 battery charge cycles.
This year, Samsung brought silicon-carbon batteries to its new foldable phones. This is a massive upgrade, which the company managed to keep secret till Unpacked. Future Galaxy phones should also receive such a battery bump.
1,200 charge cycles translate to around 3.3 years if charged once a day, as reported by GSMArena. After hitting the guaranteed lifespan, the phone’s battery would be sitting at 80% of its initial charge capacity.
Lesser cycle counts are a known disadvantage of silicon-carbon batteries. In comparison, lithium-ion batteries offer a longer lifespan. While this sounds like a downgrade on paper, it doesn’t arrive as a pure surprise from Samsung.
Galaxy S26 Ultra also features 1,200 cycle counts as per the EU label. It’s less than what the Galaxy S25 Ultra offered last year. Still, Samsung’s product has a better rating than Apple and Google, which promise around 1,000 cycles.
Samsung’s silicon-carbon battery approach brought bigger batteries to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The company maintained the lightweight and sleek design, while upgrading capacity by up to 600mAh.
Apple has reportedly trimmed the OLED profits on iPhone 18 Pro displays, with suppliers including Samsung Display and LG Display accepting the deal. This is a strategic move to deal with rising memory costs to keep BoM in check.
Industry sources (via TheElec) report that Apple is pushing hard for cheaper OLED panels on the iPhone 18 lineup, as surging memory chip prices squeeze the overall cost of building its phones.
Apple initially proposed roughly $70 per OLED panel for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Samsung Display and LG Display, however, are reportedly supplying panels at an average closer to $66.5, roughly 20 percent cheaper than the previous generation.
iPhone 16 Pro Max panels occasionally crossed $100 depending on supply conditions, before dropping into the $80 range for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 18 Pro Max now sits around 20 percent below that.

iPhone 18 panels will use the newer M16 organic material, which brings better luminous efficiency, longer lifespan, and improved color output. Still, Apple is securing the OLED panels at notably affordable costs from suppliers.
Estimates suggest Samsung will ship 46 million OLED panels for the bar-type iPhone 18 series, split between the standard, Pro, and Pro Max models, while LG Display is expected to supply around 41.09 million units across the same lineup.
Samsung’s plans for 2027’s Galaxy S27 flagships are starting to take shape, and this time the leak comes with some serious details about the camera upgrades.
According to WinFuture, the Galaxy S27 lineup won’t just be three phones this time around; Samsung is reportedly gearing up for four models, expanding the series with an extra high-end variant sitting just below the Ultra.
Samsung borrowing a page from Apple’s playbook
Import/export database entries have surfaced the code names for the new lineup.
Instead of the usual base, Plus, and Ultra trio, the S27 series is shaping up as two “standard” Galaxy S27 models and two high-end ones, with a “Galaxy S27 Pro” reportedly slotting in right under the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Sony cameras in “Next Miracle”
The internal project name for the 2027 flagship series is being listed as “Next Miracle” (or “New Miracle”), with the four devices tagged NM1 through NM4 in the databases. NM4 is expected to be the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Galaxy S27 Ultra’s 5x zoom camera is tipped for a 50MP sensor, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide using Sony’s IMX855. This sensor reportedly makes a second appearance on the S27 Pro (NM3) as well, alongside a matching 50MP zoom camera.
Earlier, both top-tier models are also tipped to get a new 16MP selfie shooter. This sensor may support autofocus, which is a rare feature even among flagships, and the S27 Pro might go a step further with OIS on the front camera too.
Samsung looks to be leaning heavily on Sony glass across the board, including on the standard S27 and S27 Plus, which reportedly keep a 50MP OIS main camera and 12MP ultra-wide. GalaxyClub has echoed similar findings, adding weight to the report ahead of the expected early 2027 launch.
On July 23, Primate Labs officially launched Geekbench 7, a new benchmark standard for CPU and GPU. Early adopters of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 reported having issues with Geekbench, but with version 7, the problem is officially addressed.
Reports emerged that Samsung’s new foldable phone doesn’t allow installation of Geekbench and other benchmark apps. Changing the package name bypassed the so-called restriction, which Samsung may have imposed to avoid leaks.
Geekbench 7 officially works on the latest Samsung foldable phones. Meanwhile, it’s also being reported that updating the Device Care app to the latest version also lifts the possible installation restriction.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Geekbench 7 scores
Geekbench 7 trials suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 hits 2,861 single-core and 7,840 multi-core scores for CPU. The foldable phone’s GPU scored 17,255 points in the Vulkan benchmark and 12,461 in the OpenCL benchmark.
While Galaxy Z Fold 8 retains support for Geekbench with version 7, it remains to be seen when and how PCMark for Android and 3DMark would return. As before, we expect Samsung to address the issue with a firmware update.
Geekbench 7
Geekbench 7 isn’t just a version bump. The multi-core benchmark has been reworked so that workloads only run in multi-threaded mode when the real-world task they mimic actually behaves that way.
Browsing, for instance, stays out of the multi-threaded suite because browsers barely use more than a thread or two in practice. That makes the numbers we eventually see from Galaxy Z Fold 8’s chipset far more meaningful.
The new media tests cover AV1 screen-sharing encoding, Opus audio compression, and live-caption generation, all things Galaxy Z Fold 8 owners are likely to lean on daily.
On the GPU side, the benchmark now includes background blur, ML-based image upscaling, and real-time face tracking, plus CUDA support for the first time.
