Samsung Galaxy August 2022 Security Updates List
Samsung started releasing the world’s first August 2022 security update for Galaxy devices, when July was about to end. Similar to the past few months, the company has released the latest security patch first as compared to other OEMs. The latest update has firstly rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones.

Shortly after the initial rollout with the Galaxy S22 series, the South Korean tech giant will gradually roll out the August 2022 security update to other Samsung devices that are eligible. The new patch surely fixes various vulnerabilities and bugs to enhance stability, security, and performance.

Previous reports suggest that Samsung has started testing One UI 5.0 beta internally. The company will soon begin the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta program for Galaxy devices. On the other hand, Google is ready to release the Stable Android 13 update, which may arrive later this month.

Samsung Galaxy A13 secures October 2024 update ahead of many flagships
Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy A13 4G smartphone, which installs the latest Android security patch release in October 2024 to enhance system security and stability. This update is available in Asian countries and the company will expand it soon.
Users of Samsung Galaxy A13 4G can verify the October 2024 security update through One UI build version A135FXXS9EXI2. They will have to download a 300 MB package to install the update. For installation, they just need to visit Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install.
Samsung Galaxy A13, an entry-level smartphone launched in 2022, is impressively receiving the latest security patch ahead of many flagship devices. While the Galaxy S24 series including the S24 FE has received the October 2024 patch, users of other flagship models are still waiting.

October 2024 Security Patch
October 2024 security update includes fixes from both Google and Samsung to address various vulnerabilities in the Android system and Samsung software.
Google addresses 2 critical and 28 high-level issues. However, 1 of these issues was already fixed in earlier updates, and 2 are not applicable to Galaxy devices.
On the Samsung side, the update includes fixes for 12 specific vulnerabilities in Samsung devices and apps, targeting problems with system services and Knox security. Additionally, Samsung Semiconductor has added a fix for 1 high-level issue to improve performance.

Samsung Galaxy S24 grabs ‘crucial’ October 2024 update in the US
Samsung Galaxy S24 series has started receiving the October 2024 security update in the US. AT&T has rolled out the latest patch for its carrier-branded S24 devices. This crucial firmware update aims to improve system security and stability.
Earlier today, Samsung published the October 2024 security patch details. The company highlighted how significant the October patch is for Galaxies. Shortly after, the company’s high-end flagships grabbed the latest patches.
October 2024 SMR update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series includes fixes for 2 critical and 28 high-level CVEs. Additionally, the update addresses 12 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items for further improvements.
CVE-2024-44068
Samsung’s changelog mentions only the inclusion of the October patch. Meanwhile, the company highlighted on its security page that it addresses CVE-2024-44068 from the Samsung Semiconductor Division.
The common vulnerability exposure is rated as HIGH leveled flaw, with the description reading “A Use-After-Free in the mobile processor leads to privilege escalation.” The affected chipsets are Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, W920.
How to install:
Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra users can easily install the October patch. Head towards Settings, followed by Software update and Download and install. Ensure connectivity to an unmetered connection for seamless installation.
One UI 7 Beta
Samsung confirmed One UI 7 Beta will launch by the end of this year. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be invited in the first phase of the rollout. The Beta will also be available for general consumers apart from the Developers’ community.
The final version will be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked next year.

Samsung One UI Home gets a refresh with performance boost
Samsung has released a new update for the One UI Home app with version 15.5.05.17. This update brings improvements to enhance your experience on Galaxy devices.
With this update, users will notice a smoother home screen and better overall performance. It fixes some minor bugs that may have been causing issues to make navigation easier and more enjoyable.
Through this update, Samsung aims to provide a seamless experience for Home screen functions. It is available with an installation package size of around 28MB.
Samsung’s One UI Home app will automatically update on your Galaxy device with the latest software, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on the new features. Also, you can check for updates manually through the Galaxy Store app.
Moreover, there’s an option to download the Samsung One UI Home 15.5.05.17 update directly from third-party links if you want to install it right away but we recommend waiting for the official release. To check which version of the One UI Home app you have, just pinch out on your home screen, tap on the Settings icon, and go to ‘About Home Screen’.
