[India] Samsung Galaxy A52 August 2022 security update rolling out
Following the initial rollout in Brazil, Samsung has now expanded the August 2022 security update to the Galaxy A52 smartphone users in India. The consumers can now download and install the firmware – A525FXXU4BVG2 by going to Settings ->> Software updates ->> Download and install.

It’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy A52 is eligible for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 upgrade. At this time, Samsung has only released the first One UI 5 beta for the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy A52 is not eligible for the beta version but will get the stable update around November or December.

Samsung has begun rolling out the Galaxy A52 August 2022 Android security patch update in Brazil. The update is released for the LTE version of the device while the 5G Galaxy A52 is yet to receive it.
Furthermore, Samsung is releasing the Galaxy A52 August 2022 update with the One UI build version A525MUBU4BVG5. It carries a heavy package size of around 1.1GB, there’s it’s recommended to use an unmetered connection while downloading.

On the other hand, this heavy package suggests that are many noticeable changes waiting inside. However, the official changelog didn’t mention anything besides minor system improvements and some stock app upgrades.

Going by the changelog, the latest update comes with improved system security that will further help in protecting your files from bugs and viruses and will keep your data safe. Whereas, the enhancement in security ensures you seamless performance without any app crashing or lagging.
The official changelog for the Galaxy A52 August patch also mentions some stock app upgrades. These apps include Samsung Notes, SmartThings, Samsung Members, Calculator, Smart Switch, and Voice Recorder.
However, the changes these apps are getting are not noted in the changelog. It could be possible that the company is improving the reliability of these applications, at the same time, enhancing some applications’ features to provide users will their best experience.

Despite these changes, Samsung’s August 2022 security patch details mention fixes for over 50 issues and exploits. These vulnerabilities include a fix for a serious Dialer bug that allowed local attackers to access ICCID via logs. It includes SVE-2022-0726(CVE-2022-33724) which harms the native Dialer app.

Looking ahead, Samsung will reportedly begin the One UI 6.1 Phase III rollout on May 14 in Canada. This phase will include the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A53.
This week’s updates also extend to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, XCover 7, and XCover 6 Pro, which received support for 4G in Europe. This update specifically revises the LTE TDD band support. For devices purchased in Germany, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries, aligning with regional network requirements.

Samsung has started rolling out the advanced 4G band support update for Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, Galaxy XCover 7, and Galaxy XCover 6 devices. The update 4G network compatibility by enhancing the band.
The fresh update has revised support for the LTE TDD band. For German-purchased devices, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
