[August 20] Galaxy Note 8, S9 and S9+
Samsung is releasing a new update for Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S9+ users. The latest update installs an Android patch released in August 2022 to enhance system security.
In addition to the security patch, the new update improves GPS stability. After updating the latest version, GPS connectivity-related issues are resolved. The update comes with a One UI build version N950FXXUGDVG5, G960FXXUHFVG4, and G965FXXUHFVG4 for Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S9+ respectively.

The security patch level of the Galaxy J7 August 2022 firmware update is dated 2017-08-01, while the changelog mentions “GPS: The stability has been improved.”

Galaxy S25 Non-One UI 8 Beta models getting July 2025 security update

Following the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung has begun releasing the July 2025 security update, and Galaxy S25 series users are receiving it. This update is currently live for Galaxy S25 users who are not testing One UI 8 Beta, as the update is based on One UI 7.
The fresh update improves the system security and stability by fixing a bunch of issues. It mainly enhances functions related to Knox security, Galaxy Watch system interface, Samsung Account, Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth, Emergency SOS, and more.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra can verify the July 2025 security update with One UI builds S931NKSS5AYF6, S936NKSS5AYF6, and S938NKSS5AYF6, respectively. They will have to download around 550MB package to install the update.
Notably, the update is currently available for users in Korea and will expand to more countries in the coming days. It is an initial rollout so it may take some hours to days to reach all models.
Users who are still on One UI 7 can install the latest update via Settings > Software Update >> Download and install. If you are testing One UI 8 beta on your Galaxy S25 smartphone, you will have to wait longer for this update.
One UI 8 stable debuted with the latest Galaxy foldable phones. Now, it is expected that the company will soon start the One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy devices. It means Galaxy S25 series users will soon receive a stable update. However, Samsung hasn’t revealed any exact timeline for release.

Samsung has started pushing the One UI 7-based July 2025 security update for Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones. The update is currently rolling out for users in Korea, and the company will soon expand it to more countries.
The July 2025 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series enhances system security and stability, providing a better Galaxy experience. Users can identify the latest update through the One UI builds given below.

As per the official notes, the July 2025 security update fixes 1 critical and 21 high-level common vulnerability exposures. It also includes 17 SVE items, which Samsung included to further elevate security and privacy status on Galaxy devices.

Samsung releases latest July 2025 security patch for Galaxy S24 FE

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE starts receiving the July 2025 security patch. A new firmware is rolling out in South Korea, which installs the latest security patch. The update will be expanded to Global markets over the next few days.
