Samsung Good Lock is a one-stop-shop for all the customization you need on your Galaxy phone or tablet. It has various apps and modules that let you customize every small detail of the smartphone even the lock icon that appears on the lock screen.
Samsung One UI 4.1 offers you different settings to manage your phone’s notifications. Meanwhile, the Samsung Good Lock NotiStar has additional features that will change the way you use to manage your Galaxy notifications.
What is Samsung Good Lock NotiStar?
Good Lock NotiStar is an easy and advanced way to manage notifications. You can set custom filters that contain predefined keywords or are related to a particular app, to isolate the important ones. It can save all your notification for a week, month, or forever, which can help you search for alerts you might have missed or dismissed.
It also lets users search through the notifications or display them only from specific apps, so they can quickly find what they’re looking for. It’s extremely helpful when you drown in your phone’s notification.
How to use Samsung Good Lock NotiStar?
To handle your notification using NotiStar, you first need to activate it. To do this, open the Good Lock app, scroll a bit, and tap NotiStar. Install the module through Galaxy Store. Once installed, tap Start and turn the toggle On.
To use it, open the application, three-dot menu >> Settings. The following options will appear:
NotiStar allows you to choose the apps by which you want to be notified. By default, All app notifications are enabled. Below the toggle, you will be able to see all the applications installed on your mobile and you can turn them on or off as per your preferences.
Use Filter List
This is a filtration process to a whole new level by allowing you to attach custom keywords. After tapping on the User filter list, click Add filter >> Create new filters for emergencies and more. Additionally, you can also select the applications that are allowed to notify you.
Using on Lock Screen
You can configure NotiStar to be used from your lock screen. For easy access, it gives you a neat-looking Start icon. This option is enabled by default, you can also turn it off.
Notification Storage Period
NotiStar can very easily serve as your go-to notification management tool. Beyond white/blacklisting and keyword filtering, It can also serve as your notification storage tool, ensuring that your important notifications are never discarded.
When you tap on the option you will get options to choose when your notifications are automatically removed. You can choose between 7 days, 30 days, 6 months, 1 year, or No limit (forever).

Navigate Good Lock >> NotiStar >> Start icon settings on lock screen to set the position, color, and transparency of the NotiStar icon. You should see three buttons at the bottom of the screen: Color, Transparency, and Save. Whereas, the Start icon is placed in the middle of your screen.
Samsung Good Lock 2023: Android 13/One UI 5.0 support, Release Date, Features and Latest News
Good Lock is an app developed by Samsung exclusively for Galaxy devices. It provides several One UI customization services (modules) by which you can make your mobile interface more beautiful and easy to use. Now, Samsung is going to launch Good Lock 2023 for eligible Galaxy devices soon.
On Android 13 based One UI 5.0, multiple apps and modules of Good Lock will stop working because these apps are not compatible with this new One UI version. Since the customization of the UI is based on the operating system, the company needs to re-optimize Good Lock to bring One UI 5.0 support.
The Korean tech giant started releasing the One UI 5.0 Program for Galaxy S22 series in different markets and is expected to release it soon for other Galaxy devices including Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Note 20, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A52s smartphones.
Due to compatibility issues, the Galaxy device running One UI 5.0 cannot properly use the Good Lock functionalities. But with Good Lock 2023, the company will resolve all issues as well new will release new features for the consumers.

As Samsung has started the One UI 5.0 beta program for its eligible devices, the release of GoodLock 2023 is not far away. To make all GoodLock Module One UI 5.0 compatible, the company will soon release a major update for Good Lock so that there is zero possibility of modules shutting down or crashing.
Samsung hasn’t shared its plans for Good Lock 2023 at the moment, but we can expect the company to release a major update to Good Lock around the Galaxy S23 launch, which means early next year.

PSA: Samsung One UI 5.0 Beta unplugged Good Lock suite
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta brings a number of new features to Samsung consumers, however, we need to sacrifice the iconic Good Lock customization suite, for some time. Every year, the company runs its independent One UI Beta program to test the new Android OS for Galaxy devices.
As Good Lock is an application that works under the One UI ecosystem, the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta doesn’t support the customization suite because of compatibility issues with the new operating system. And resulting consumers deal with an unsupported Good Lock functionality.
Good Lock 2023
Samsung will fix the compatibility issues of the Good Lock with a major update sometime in early 2023 by including support for the new Android 13 operating system. Until then, you won’t be able to access some of the Good Lock modules and apps.
