Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is one of the foldable smartphones that the company plans to announce this year along with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Recently, South Korean media revealed that LG Energy Solution batteries are expected to be installed in the next-generation Galaxy foldable phone.

According to the information, Samsung’s MX division is reportedly considering using LG Energy Solution’s small pouch-type battery for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 phone.

The company has been ordering and using LG Energy Solution batteries since 2019. This is for some models in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. This is the first time that LG Energy Solutions’ battery usage plan for a Galaxy foldable device has been announced to the outside world.

The starting portion of foldable phones released so far is exclusively supplied by Samsung SDI. Yet, some of the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 have been acquired by LG Energy Solutions. Although if it is not a foldable phone to be released this year, LG Energy Solutions is likely to be responsible for the initial supply of the new model next year.

Talking about the Samsung premium phones such as foldable phones determines the performance of the smartphone business. Since it is directly related to the transfer image, the quality and performance of the components are strictly checked. The extended range of support for the foldable phone has been described as a high rating for the LG Energy Solutions battery.

Samsung Galaxy S24 August 2024 update Korea

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra was beaten by an alleged iQOO 13. It was recently surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The handset secured higher performance scores than Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S flagship.

According to the information, the iQOO 13 featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (8 Elite) outscored Galaxy S25 Ultra. The device was equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon SoC with 4.32GHz max clock frequency.

The Snapdragon used in iQOO 13 had the same base clock (3.53GHz) as the S25 Ultra. However, the primary cores’ frequency is slightly lower (4.32GHz than 4.47GHz), resulting in a positive impact on the performance benchmark.

Multiple test results show that the iQOO phone surpassed the 10,000 mark in the multi-core performance test. It’s a big blog to the Samsung flagship, which didn’t surpass the 10,000 points market on the Geekbench multi-core test.

The difference in primary core frequency suggests that:

  • iQOO is using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 successor, while
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra is using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy successor.

The difference in RAM installation has also pushed the iQOO flagship to score well. The iQOO 13 was paired with 16GB RAM, while the previously benchmarked Galaxy S25 Ultra was equipped with 12GB of RAM.

Well, it doesn’t mean that the previous test scores are the final ones. Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 series in January next year. The phone will improve its performance and efficiency as the software optimization is still underway.

One UI 7 could further solidify Samsung’s lead in the smartphone market. The company is rigorously working on improvements and optimization. These efforts will surely benefit Galaxy users by upscaling their Galaxy experience.
