Samsung introduced next-generation DDR5 DRAM for gaming solution

Published

Samsung DDR5 DRAM

Samsung‘s new DDR5 era has arrived – from 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to metaverse and augmented reality (AR), high-performance computing pushes server environments to process enormous data at extremely high speeds.

With the realization that tech giants around the world are ready to add servers to their data centers, Samsung Electronics has developed its DDR5 memory solutions, which will play a key role in maximizing future-based industries.

Samsung’s Game-Changing DDR5 Solution

With the development of its DDR5 solution, Samsung is known for changing the landscape of the Global Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) market and has introduced another generation of change in the IT industry.

In addition, the computing landscape is expected to change drastically after the release of CPUs that support DDR5 earlier this year, as well as the inclusion of gaming and mainstream PCs.

Compared to its predecessor that hit the market in 2013, the DDR4 and DDR5 DRAM are twice as fast and four times more capable at 4800Mpbs and 512GB respectively. This next-generation high-performance memory allows the network to handle ever-increasing amounts of generated data.

The data centers are the main users of DDR5 because they require low-power, high-performance memory as they consume large amounts of power to operate at full capacity, to keep servers operating and cool.

Since the third quarter of this year, DDR5 is set to replace existing DRAMs for servers, a change that will help data centers stay cost-effective and promote sustainable, environmentally friendly growth. Beyond the performance limitations of existing DRAMs, DDR5 is crucial in leading data-based innovation in terms of speed, efficiency, and environmental friendliness.

One UI 6.1 Intelligent Optimization

Samsung Galaxy S24 series introduced several new features and enhancements with the One UI 6.1, one of which is Intelligent Optimization. This feature is designed to give users specific control over the image processing levels directly from the camera settings.

The Intelligent Optimization feature allows users to adjust how their photos are processed. Whether capturing everyday moments or professional shots, the Intelligent Optimization feature in One UI 6.1 ensures that your photos meet your standards with minimal effort.

How to activate it?

You can easily enable the Intelligent Optimization feature by following the steps below.

  • Open the Camera app, then Settings.
  • Tap on Intelligent Optimization.
  • Choose the desired optimization level
    • Maximum
    • Medium: Speed up capture time by doing less optimization
    • Minimum: Take pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing pictures after they are taken.
  • Optionally, enable or disable the Scene Optimizer.

This feature allows for customization of photo attributes such as sharpness, contrast, and brightness. For example, selecting the minimum level results in more natural-looking images, while the maximum level increases detail and sharpness, which is ideal for zoomed-in shots. Notably, the quality optimization setting of these levels only affects Photo Mode.

If you enable Scene Optimizer, it automatically optimizes the color and contrast of pictures to make dark scenes look brighter, food looks tastier and landscapes look more vivid.

Samsung One UI 7 might bring iOS-like Battery Health feature

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy S24

Rumor is that Samsung might bring a Battery Health feature with the One UI 7 update. The next One UI iteration will be based on Android 15, which is said to bring the ability to evaluate battery health and screen the remaining capacity in percentage.

Apple iPhones have a Battery Health feature, which is an important part when reselling. Battery cells of electronic gadgets get degraded with time, resulting in less backup between charges. The battery health feature won’t solve the problem, but let you know about the status.

Samsung is committing to upgrade Galaxy flagships for up to 7 years. Therefore, pleasing hardware is required for long-standing use of the devices. The battery health would allow you to know when the battery requires to be replaced for a longer backup.

There are mixed reactions by consumers over the rumor of a battery health feature in One UI 7. Some say it will be a welcome move, while it won’t be anything more than anxiety. We will get to know more about the function if it enters the testing phase at Samsung.

One UI 7

Like all software development, Samsung’s One UI 7 will also launch a Beta Program. Flagship Samsung devices will get early access to Android 15-based One UI 7 through the Beta Program. The company is expected to launch its One UI 7 Beta in August this year.
