Google Messages bringing ‘Delete for Everyone’ option to RCS chats

Google is working on a new feature for its Messages app that will allow users to delete RCS chats not just from their own device, but also from the recipient’s device. This feature follows the new RCS Universal Profile v2.7, which was announced in June 2024.
The new delete feature has been spotted on the Google Messages app version 20250131_02_RC00 by AssembleDebug (via Android Authority). It is similar to how WhatsApp allows chat deletion.
Right now, when you delete an RCS message, it only disappears from your phone, but the person you sent it to can still see it. Soon, you’ll be able to delete messages for everyone There will be two options for deleting messages – Delete for everyone and Delete for me.
The “Delete for everyone” option will remove the message from both your phone and the recipient’s phone. If you choose “Delete for me,” it will only delete the message from your own device, and the recipient will still be able to see it.
However, there’s a catch. If you delete or try to delete a message, the person you sent it to will get a notification about it. This means they’ll know that you’ve deleted a message or tried to do so. This could be an issue for some people who prefer to delete messages quietly without others finding out.
These new delete capabilities will make Google Messages more similar to other messaging apps that already allow message deletion, like WhatsApp and Telegram.
It will be a helpful feature for those who want to remove mistakes or old messages. The new feature will be available soon for users with the latest version of the app. Once available, it could soon be expanded to Samsung devices.

Samsung LockStar app getting ready for new features with One UI 7

Many Samsung Good Lock modules are already working with One UI 7, but some are still being tested to ensure full compatibility. Recently, Samsung released an update for the Home Up app, adding some cool new features. Now, Samsung is turning its focus to the LockStar app, another popular Good Lock module, to make sure it works smoothly with One UI 7.
A Samsung community moderator has confirmed that the Good Lock team is actively working on preparing the LockStar app for One UI 7. The company is planning to release a new update soon, though users will have to wait a little longer for it to be available.
Right now, LockStar is going through extensive internal testing. This is because One UI 7 introduces big changes and new features, and Samsung wants to make sure everything works perfectly before the new app update is released. The team is working hard to get LockStar ready for One UI 7 devices.
Similar to the Home Up app, Samsung LockStar will likely get several exciting changes and new features with One UI 7 support. However, Samsung hasn’t shared an official release date yet but it’s expected to arrive soon.
So, if you’re eagerly waiting for the One UI 7-compatible LockStar update, all you need is a little patience. Once it’s ready, Samsung will roll it out, and you’ll be able to enjoy all the new features and improvements that come with it. Stay tuned for more information.

WhatsApp may soon let you edit album caption within 15 minutes

WhatsApp has released a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, which introduces the ability to edit the album caption. The beta update arrives for Android devices with the app version 2.25.3.12 through the Google Play Beta Program.
Right now, once you send an album on WhatsApp, you can’t edit the caption. This is because albums are managed separately from single media messages. With single messages, you can edit the caption after sending, but albums don’t have that option. If you make a mistake in the caption or forget something important, you have to delete and resend the whole album.
However, WhatsApp is working on a solution to this. With upcoming updates, users will be able to edit their album captions within 15 minutes of sending. This means if you make a mistake or need to add more information, you won’t have to resend the entire album.
With the edit album caption feature, you can just fix the caption instead of resending it. This feature will make it easier to correct any errors quickly.

This feature will be mainly useful in group chats or shared media, where captions provide important context for the photos or videos. The ability to quickly modify captions will help avoid confusion and ensure that media shared within the app is more accurate and meaningful.
The Edit album caption isn’t available yet but WhatsApp is actively working on it. This feature will be included in a future update for Android users. Stay tuned for more information.
