Going ahead, the Korean tech giant released an affordable variant in this lineup – the Galaxy S20 FE, which features the same hardware and slightly upgraded software capabilities. As Samsung hoped, this handset saved its 2020’s poor smartphones sales, and now the total number of sold units is revealed.

According to a statement shared with 9to5Google, Samsung sold more than 10 million Galaxy S20 FE units between its launch in Q4 2020 and just a little over a year later. In addition, the S20 FE is one of the company’s best-selling Galaxy smartphones over the past year.

“Since its launch in Q4 2020, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE sold 10 million units in just over a year, making it one of Samsung’s best-selling Galaxy smartphones over the past year.”

Along with this, the company has also shared its future plans regarding expansion, availability, and more upcoming features. At the same time, Samsung unveiled striking new features of the One UI 5!

The One UI 4 adapted Android 12-like 4 Color Palette functionality, which is now expanded up to 16 preset color themes based on the user’s wallpaper and 12 more color options for their home screens, icons and quick panels to offer even more customization capability.

Stack Widgets

Stack Widgets is the second highlighting feature of the One UI 5 software which allows users to further customize their home screens by stacking widgets of the same size in a single location, as part of saving space and creating a cleaner, more organized look. Besides, here’s a new feature so you can block notifications from certain apps.

With the One UI 5, Samsung simplified the process of altering sound and vibration settings with reorganized menus, which offer easier access to all ringtone volumes and vibration intensities. Per-app notification has also been adapted from Android 13 so you can use the preferred language for their different apps.

In addition to newly added features, the One UI 5 takes user experiences to a whole new level with enhanced camera capabilities and security resources, and additional accessibility tools such as a more responsive zoom bar.

With enhanced camera features, you can more seamlessly capture high-quality photos and video with a new icon in Pro and Pro Video mode that offers useful tips and tricks on how to use the various lenses, features and controls.

Samsung launches One UI 5 Open Beta, shares future plans

A few days back, Samsung opened the One UI 5 Beta program for the Galaxy S22 series in three markets. Now, Samsung has officially launched the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta, with highlighting new features and future plans.

First of all, the company confirmed that the One UI 5 Open Beta program is initially kicked off for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones in the US, Germany and South Korea, however, it will be expanded to more regions over the coming months.

This means the Galaxy S22 consumers in the remaining four markets (India, Poland, China and the UK) will get the One UI 5 Beta later on. At the same time, the South Korean tech giant has not shared its plan for other eligible Galaxy devices for the Beta activity.

Now coming to the features, the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update will bring plenty of new customization, security and accessibility features in order to deliver the latest mobile experiences to as many Samsung Galaxy users as possible.
