Google One achieves 500 million download milestone on Play Store
Google One is a service provided by Google that allows you automatically back up your phone and manage your Google cloud storage. In November 2020, the app had reached the 100 million mark. As per the information (9to5google), Google One has now surpassed the 500-million-download milestone on the Play Store.
Google One 500M download Milestone
Google One app has now joined a special club that includes various first-party titles. To be noted, this figure has increased as it comes pre-installed on many devices that have been shipped in late 2020 and now in 2021.
With the selected tier of Google One subscription, you can back up MMS messages on your Android phone, get up to 10% cashback on goods purchased through the Google Store. In addition to this, you can add Google photo filters and editing tools and dedicated VPN, as well as add additional features.
Pixel devices no longer include free, unlimited full-resolution backups of media, which is one of the reasons for the additional Google One (500M)download. This clearly indicates that in order to expand beyond the initial 15GB of free account storage, you need to start a Google One subscription.
Google One Features:
- Manage your storage plan, which covers Google Drive, Gmail, and original quality photos and videos in Google Photos.
- Contact our team of experts with just one tap
- Access member benefits like Google Play credit and special hotel pricing.
- Share your plan with up to 5 family members, giving everyone more storage plus access to extra benefits.

WhatsApp working on hidden group chats feature for enhanced community privacy
WhatsApp Beta 2.24.10.13 beta update is rolling out for Android users, which enhances user privacy with a hidden community group chats feature. This feature is currently under development and will be available in future updates.
The new feature of WhatsApp will let users make certain groups invisible within their community chat lists to enhance their control over privacy within the app.
Each hidden group will be easily identified as it will have a special icon next to its name, making it clear to community members that the group is not visible to everyone.
This new feature aims to provide users with more privacy options. It allows hidden participation in group chats, without displaying activity to the entire community. The icon is a simple indicator for users to manage their group chats more effectively.
The Hidden Community Group Chats feature of WhatsApp is mainly useful for community moderators, who will have better tools to manage group privacy and organization. By allowing groups to be hidden, sensitive discussions can be kept confidential.

YouTube Premium introduces AI-driven ‘Jump Ahead’ feature
YouTube Premium users now have access to a new feature called ‘Jump Ahead,’ which simplifies video navigation. After the first trial in March 2024, this new feature is now available for testing on youtube.com/new.
With ‘Jump Ahead,’ users can skip parts of a video that are mainly fast-forwarded by others. A temporary pill-shaped button appears after a double tap, which lets users bypass these sections. The feature uses AI to analyze viewing patterns and identify where viewers prefer to jump to.
Now, ‘Jump Ahead’ is part of YouTube testing features and Premium users can find it under the ‘Try experimental new features’ section in the YouTube mobile app settings.
This feature is currently limited to the YouTube Android app in the US, for English-language videos with a significant number of views. It is available for trial until June 1, which may also be extended.
