App developers will soon be eligible for Google Play Store service fee as low as 10%
On October 21, Google announced new steps to make sales in the Google Play Store more attractive to developers. Currently, the company charges 30% for all registered sales and drops it to 15% after one year. From 2022, developers will now be charged 15% off payments from day one, while Google is also moving to reduce the fees for apps registered under the Play Media Experience Program to 10%.
Google said, the new fee structure begins January 1, 2022, and will benefit 99% of engineers. This means that if you purchase a subscription to the Google Play Store later that day, Google will charge the developer only 15% of the initial payment.
Google will also make changes to apps and services under the Play Media Experience app. These apps are built with support for platform experiences such as Google TV, Android Auto, Google Wear, and Google Cast in exchange for a 15% discount. From January 1, 2022, that amount will drop to 10%,
Google’s new movements come in the wake of attempts by developers to challenge the Google Play Store and Apple App Store 30% as a nuisance. The company has taken a number of hard work in this regard, reducing the commission that charged small business owners (earning less than $1 million a year) to 15%.
It would not be enough to stop other countries like South Korea from ordering to open its Play Store to use other payment methods, but such a move would go a long way in eliminating ongoing dissatisfaction from developers and content providers. Google cites Bumble and Duolingo as examples of partners who have responded positively to this change.

WhatsApp has rolled out a new update for its beta version 2.24.10.22, which includes a redesigned drawing editor. This update is currently available to a limited number of beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program.
The update brings a significant change to the drawing editor by moving the brush and color tools to the bottom of the screen. This change is particularly beneficial for users with larger screens, as it makes the tools easier to access and use with one hand.
Additionally, WhatsApp has improved the color selection feature by introducing a palette of 24 default colors. This simplifies the process of choosing colors for users. The font size adjustment has also been made more user-friendly, with a new bar that allows users to scroll to change the size, instead of the previous gesture control.
This redesigned drawing editor was first mentioned in the Android 2.24.9.6 update and later released to iOS users, and is now being rolled out to Android beta testers. This update overall aims to offer a more accessible and improved drawing editor to provide an enhanced user experience.
