New Google Drive Material You update brings revamped X-shaped widget
Earlier, Google stated that Material You is actively working on key Workspace applications on Android, including Drive. The Google Drive redesign also brings new quirky and large X-shaped widgets.
Google Drive redesign is straightforward with a long bottom bar that uses tablet-shaped indicators to highlight the current tab you’re viewing. Since the system is complex and very complex, the large size helps to better distinguish the navigation object.

Currently, there is a pill-shaped search field at the top, a FAB square in the lower right corner, and Dynamic Color for tab indicators and light source.
Google Drive also introduces Material You widgets. The main update is “Drive quick actions,” where you can search, take OCR photos, upload, and create a new document. The smallest size of 3×1 is just a shortcut to open the app and load it with the bright Dynamic Color palette used. Going up one or two shows all available actions and switches to a darker shade.
At least 2×3 displays an X-shaped widget where buttons are inserted into corners around a square in that application. Material You in Google Drive is now released via Google Play Store in version 2.21.330.x, but 2.21.357.x is required to access all widget/exception sizes.
