On September 15, Samsung Canada announced that eligible TD cards, including TD Access Cards and TD Credit Cards, are now supported by Samsung Pay, a widely accepted mobile payment system that works almost anywhere consumers can swipe or touch their cards.

This partnership with TD significantly increases Samsung Pay availability to Canadian cardholders. The Samsung Pay expansion comes at a time when untapped payments are growing in popularity across Canada.

To help promote greater acceptance of non-communicable transactions as a quick and secure payment option, Canadian card issuers have increased contact limit transactions from $100 to $250 last year. By early 2021, contactless payments accounted for nearly 60 percent of global jobs nationwide.

WhatsApp bringing new stickers as part of promoting payment service in India

Published

on

WhatsApp ranks India among its major markets and often comes up with relevant local features to provide to millions of users there. The messaging service of the messaging app was tested in the country and made public publicly a long time ago, but the reception is not yet warm. To arouse the excitement surrounding the ongoing holiday season, WhatsApp is adding a total of five sticker packs with multiple cultural references around how Indians manage their money earned only by the defect.

Whether it’s a Rakhi gift or a request for Eidi, there’s a lot of fun in these stickers that will put a smile on your face or your recipients. All of these cultural details come from local artists WhatsApp collaborating (via- AndroidPolice) to create these stickers: Anjali Mehta, Anuja Pothireddy, Mira Malhotra, Neethi, and Osheen Siva.

While making payment in WhatsApp, you will now have the option to paste one of these attachments to add a personal touch to it, or you can send it free of charge, too. These new cookies are already live for anyone to download from WhatsApp, but you can check out the screenshots below before installing them.

The idea of payments included in the messaging app used by everyone was promising and could establish WhatsApp in the payment platform. However, the Facebook messaging app hosted the party late. Google Pay and PhonePe already dominate India’s UPI market, leaving little space for newcomers, even smart ones like WhatsApp.

With these new stickers, WhatsApp is trying to entice Indian users with its payment service for utility charges linked to Indian culture, be it a shagun of lifafa or earning money from your relatives as aashirwaad when they visit you. In any case, these stickers should still be fun to use or not to use WhatsApp Pay.
