Samsung Fold 3 One UI 5.0 Connected devices

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the 3rd generation best Samsung (or anyone else) has ever produced. It improves the durability of the Z Fold 2, which provides water resistance with IPX8, Gorilla Glass Victus, and “sweeper” bristles inside the hinge to retain dust and extend the duration of the phone.

It is also an excellent all-around tool, boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and a three-lens rear camera system. On top of this, it goes fold out, making it great for you to do multitasking work and make a product, watch TV and media, and entertain your friends.

Regarding, a state-of-the-art condition like the Z Fold 3, it may not be completely free of problems with lubricants and technical equipment. Fortunately, we have compiled a list of common Samsung Samsung Z Fold 3 problems and how to fix them.

Camera app not displaying Dual Screen button for selfies – Issue

A number of users on Samsung’s Community forum have noted that, when trying to take a selfie in the Camera app, they don’t see the Dual Screen button.

Solution

  • Fortunately, there’s a very quick fix for this. As other Samsung Community users have noted, opening the Camera app from the cover screen (rather than the main screen) will ensure that the Dual Screen button appears where it should.

Screen protector problems

Some users of the Z Fold 3 have encountered a variety of issues with the phone’s pre-installed screen protectors. These problems aren’t always exactly the same, with some reporting bubbles and others reporting inconsistencies in the protector’s adherence to the screen.

Since such issues can be frustrating, you are strongly advised not to remove the pre-installed screen protector, especially when talking about a large folding screen. Instead, you should contact Samsung as soon as possible to arrange a repair or replacement.

On the other hand, at least one user asked if it was safe to remove the outer film that came wrapped in wire outside the box.

Unable to acquire GPS location in apps – Issue

Even though the Z Fold 3 has only just been released, some users have already complained that apps they use are unable to receive their GPS location data from the phone.

Possible solutions

This is an issue that has affected other Samsung devices in recent years, so you may simply have to wait for a software update for a fix. You can check if one is available by doing the following:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Scroll down to Software Update.
  3. Select Download and Install.
  4. If a new update is available, your device will obtain it.

Can’t activate unlocked Z Fold 3 on Sprint – Issue

This is one of the more complicated and difficult problems encountered so far with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Quite a large number of United States-based users have reported that they can’t activate their phones on Sprint. This seems to be an issue arising from T-Mobile’s merger with Sprint and from how Samsung has optimized the phone (or not) for using a T-Mobile or Sprint SIM card.

As of writing, the only fix appears to be contacting T-Mobile and/or Sprint and trying a different SIM card (i.e., a T-Mobile rather than Sprint SIM). That said, some users have reported that the issue was resolved after several days, with a few noting that they were eventually able to activate their phones via either the T-Mobile or Sprint websites.

S Pen to Text not working properly – Issue

couple of users have reported that the Convert Handwriting to Text feature on their Z Fold 3 phones doesn’t work properly. Normally, this lets users of the Samsung Notes app handwrite a phrase or sentence and then convert it into normal text. Unfortunately, the affected users note that the process of conversion malfunctions, with random words appearing where they shouldn’t.

Possible fixes

  • As of writing, there isn’t a definitive solution for this. You may simply have to wait for a software update from Samsung and then install it, which you can do by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
  • Given the Samsung Notes app is responsible for converting handwriting, you may also want to try updating it. This can be done by going to the Google Play Store, searching for Samsung Notes, and then tapping Update.

How to create and use Secure Folder in Samsung Galaxy

Samsung secure folder 1.9.10.27 update

Samsung Galaxy phones come with a Secure Folder feature for enhanced data protection. It works as a dedicated compartment in your Galaxy smartphone where you can store different kinds of files (photos, videos) and installed applications.

The Knox technology provides layers of security and privacy, not only to protect users but also to give them a choice in what they want to secure. For those who want to keep their most personal information separate and safe, there’s Secure Folder.

Photos, videos, and files stored in Secure Folder won’t be accessible in regular apps. If you need them, you have to access the Secure Folder – authentication required. It takes the security and user privacy to a whole new level and the data is secured by Samsung on-device.

Secure Folder can keep your most private data such as calendar schedules and contact info, as well as notes, photos, videos, files, and even apps. You can even encrypt the Secure Folder to keep your apps and data even more locked down until the next time you open the folder.

Samsung One UI Secure Folder

You can find Secure Folder in your apps.

The first time you open it, you’ll have to set your lock type to either a PIN, pattern, or password, with fingerprint authentication can be enabled as well. Anything you create within the Secure Folder will be automatically stored here, but you can also move data here at any time.

For instance, if you want to keep a copy of your driver’s license, you can take a photo of it using the Camera app within Secure Folder, or you can pick a photo in your Gallery, tap the options menu (the three dots) and then select ‘Move to Secure Folder.’

This feature allows for customization of photo attributes such as sharpness, contrast, and brightness. For example, selecting the minimum level results in more natural-looking images, while the maximum level increases detail and sharpness, which is ideal for zoomed-in shots.
