Verizon: Samsung Galaxy S20 getting June 2021 security patch update

The Galaxy S20 is one of the initial Samsung devices that have received the June 2021 security patch. Now, the company is expanding the latest security update to more countries.

According to the info, Verizon started sending a new firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra devices in the US. It comes with the latest June 2021 security patch for better device security.

Users can identify this update via release numbers: G988USQS2DUE2, G986USQS2DUE2, and G981VSQS2DUE2 for the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20+ 5G, and Galaxy S20 5G UW respectively.

Other than the latest security patch, this update doesn’t include major system changes, optimizations, or any new features. While installation of a new security patch is necessary as it improves system stability and keeps your device protected.

Aside from this, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 10 series had recently received the June 2021 security patch in the US. Just like the Galaxy S20, the new update for the above-mentioned devices also comes with only security improvements.

You can easily check for the new software update manually by navigating to your device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
