Samsung’s first rollable phone will be called Galaxy Z Roll
Just recently, Samsung showed off its innovative display technologies at the SID 2021 including S-foldable, slidable, Under Panel Camera, and 17-inch folding screen tablet. As of now, these displays are under development that will debut with the next Galaxy devices in the near future.
In a recent development, new information came to light that reveals the expected name of the company’s first rollable smartphone, which could launch next year. According to LetsGoDigital, Samsung filed a trademark for “Z Roll” on May 18, 2021, which is categorized as Class 9 and comes with the following description.
This new trademark clearly hints that it is very likely to be the name of Samsung’s future rollable/slidable smartphone. At the same time, the “Z” seems to refer to the series, all smartphones with a folding screen are housed in the Galaxy Z series.
Although it is unclear when Samsung will introduce its first smartphone with a slidable/rollable display, it will reveal more information about this futuristic device in August 2021, during the launch event of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. We can expect that the Galaxy Z Roll could hit the smartphone market in 2022.

As you can see in the comparison renders, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has an almost flat design as compared to its predecessor. The company has already reduced the curvature with the S23 Ultra this year, and it’s going to be flat, starting with the S24 Ultra next year.

Samsung recently unveiled its fifth-generation foldable smartphones in China, where they have different names and features than the global versions. The Samsung W24 is the rebranded version of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, while the Samsung W24 Flip is of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. These phones have some differences in aspects like RAM, weight, and wallpapers.
The Samsung W24 and W24 Flip come with exclusive wallpapers that are not available on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. These wallpapers have feather-like designs with various colors, which look stunning on foldable screens. There are four wallpapers for the W24 and five wallpapers for the W24 Flip.

The new flat frame is a significant design overhaul that Samsung enthusiasts will see with the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus. On the front, there is a tiny punch-hole design consisting of the selfie snapper sensor, while the rear three cameras are placed vertically on the top left panel.
