Samsung Galaxy S20 FE gets May 2021 security update

Back in February 2021, Samsung released the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy S20 FE smartphones. It was a major firmware update, which added plenty of new features such as Object Eraser, Eye Comfort Shield, Google Duo integration, Buds Auto Switching, and more.

Now, the company pushed a new software update to the Galaxy S20 FE 4G and 5G variants in different European markets. This release can be identified via PDA build versions: G780FXXS3CUD7 and G781BXXU3CUD6 for the Galaxy S20 FE LTE and Galaxy S20 FE 5G.

With the latest s/w update, the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone users are the latest to join the party with the May 2021 security patch. Recently, Samsung stated that this new security update brings fixes for 3 critical, 24 high, and 17 moderate CVEs. Other than this, the changelog doesn’t show any new feature or major system optimization.

Aside from this, the South Korean tech giant rolled out a new camera feature for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 owners called Dual Recording alongside the May 2021 security patch. This new Director’s View-like camera feature lets users record video from both the rear (primary) and front camera simultaneously.
