Samsung Internet 13.0 brings new privacy and security feature with better user experience

Published

on

Samsung Internet, the fastest, easiest, and most reliable web browser, recently brings a new update. With this latest update, Samsung introduces new features and improvements designed to provide better and safer browsing with Internet 13.0 for Galaxy users.

Includes new features, an enhancement to existing features, and UI refinements. The Samsung Internet 13.0 has increased app support for infinity display panels and comes with several new features such as improved privacy, security, and the user interface for user experience.

The second creativity is in the form of a status bar that can be hidden on all present Galaxy devices. If enabled the behavior automatically hides the status bar of the mobile browser.

Samsung Internet 13.0 provides useful information at the touch of a button on the expandable application bar for bookmarks, saved pages, history, downloads, ad blockers, add-ons, and settings.

It supports a ‘More Menu’ button at the bottom, so you can easily access the button in categories such as Tab Manager and Downloads.

This application has also introduced Internet 13.0 new malicious website alerts. Whenever a suspicious page tries to take over your notifications, the app instructs you what permission you need.

Protecting You From Prying Eyes

Samsung Internet 13.0 offers a new permission request UI that displays a warning message if the website appears malicious and tries to trick users into allowing notifications.

The incognito mode allows them to automatically clear their browsing history as soon as they close all of their incognito mode tabs. As part of the Samsung Internet 13.0 update, a new Secret Mode icon will be displayed in the address bar, so it’s easy to know when to turn it on. For more information about Secret Mode, see the new Secret Mode section.

PERMISSION REQUEST UI

Samsung is changing the permission request UI to display a warning message if the website looks malicious. This feature will stop notifications from those sites that like to mislead their users into accepting notifications.

DOUBLE-TAP TO PLAY/PAUSE YOUR VIDEOS

With Samsung Internet 13.0, users can play or pause content while in video assistant fullscreen by double-tapping the center area of the screen.

EASY EDITING OF YOUR BOOKMARKS

Just press the bookmark icon and you will get a toast notification to edit your bookmark on the Internet 13.0.

ADD-ON EXTENSION API EXPANSION

Samsung has expanded the browser extension APIs available on Samsung Internet. These are the new API modules available: WebRequest, Proxy, Cookies, Types, History, Alarms, Privacy, Notifications, Permissions, Idle, and Management.

BETTER USER PRIVACY IN SECRET MODE

There is now a better and more detailed explanation of what Secret Mode consists of. We have added this to the initial Secret Mode launch page. Samsung also added an ‘About Secret Mode’ section in the settings to make it absolutely transparent how it helps you protect your privacy.

STATUS BAR VISIBILITY

The company is now allowing users to hide or show the status bar while viewing websites. If you enable this, the status bar disappears when scrolling up and reappear when scrolling down.

Extension API for Developers

New Application Programming Interface (API) modules are now available for Samsung Internet 13.0, including WebRequest, Proxy, Cookies, Types, History, Alarms, Privacy, Notifications, Permissions, Idle, and Management. Developers can use these APIs to build extensions and contact the Samsung Internet team to validate, approve, and add their extensions to the Internet browser.

To download Samsung Internet

If you’re an existing Samsung Internet user, you will receive a notification telling you a new version is available. You can also download the latest version of the Samsung Internet browser on the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.
