T-Mobile Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G getting October 2020 security update

T-Mobile is now rolling out a new software update for Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G in the U.S. The devices locked on carrier getting October 2020 security patch to enhance the security and stability of your device.

This new update comes with a software version of F916USQS1ATJ1 and installs the latest security patch. Apart from the security patch, this update doesn’t bring any new features.

Previously, the unlocked international variants got the latest security update, and just recently one of the other carriers in the country, Sprint began rolling out a similar update for its locked Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G devices.

Aside from the regular security updates, Samsung is currently experimenting with the One UI 3.0 beta for Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series devices in several countries including the United States. After the successful testing of One UI 3.0, this update will soon available for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G devices.

How to check for the updates manually?
  • Tap Settings > Software update > Download and install.
  • Wait for the device to check for updates.
  • Tap OK > Start.
  • When the restart message appears, tap OK.
