Verizon Galaxy S20 series gets October 2020 security patch update

Samsung already updated its global unclocked variants of the Galaxy S20 series with the latest security patch. Moreover, the company also sent a camera performance improvement update to these phones. Aside from the global variants, one of the major carriers of the U.S., Verizon has done its additional testing and began rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy S20 5G UW, S20+ 5G, and S20 Ultra 5G smartphones.

According to the latest information, the new update installs October 2020 security patch to upgrade the security level of your device against threats and keep your smartphone secure. Apart from the latest security patch, the changelog doesn’t mention any new features or improvements.

Galaxy S20 5G UW – G981VSQS1BTJ5

Galaxy S20+ 5G – G986USQS1BTJ5

Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G – G988USQS1BTJ5

To manually check for updates follow the simple steps.

From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps, tap Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.

If your device finds a new software update, tap Download now. When complete, a screen will appear advising you that the new version of the software is ready to be installed. Tap Install update.

Samsung Galaxy F41 users are getting a fresh update with an April 2024 security patch to improve system security and stability for a better user experience. The update is available for users in India and the company will soon make it available to all models.

April 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy F41 smartphone arrives in India with One UI build version F415FXXS3CXD1 and an installation package size of 183.27MB. The new update makes the smartphone more stable and secure.

The  April patch fixes over 40 issues to make the smartphone more secure, stable, and reliable. It mainly resolves problems related to Storage Manager Service, Out of bounds write, and more.

You can check the update by navigating to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.

Samsung Galaxy Enhance-X app is getting a new update with version 2.0.89 for One UI devices. This update is available on the Galaxy Store with an installation package size of 181.2 MB, which brings improvements over the previous version.

Users can look forward to enhanced functionality, as the update enhances some features within the app. These enhancements are expected to boost the app’s overall performance. Also, the Korean tech has addressed various issues reported by users in the previous versions.

The most noticeable thing about this update is the refresh icons, spotted by tipster @theonecid. With this update, Samsung has introduced a set of updated icons that are visually appealing.

Samsung takes Galaxy’s security and privacy quite seriously! Without missing its routine, Samsung today published the May 2024 schedule, revealing which Galaxy devices are eligible for Monthly and Quarterly software updates.

The details of Galaxy’s May 2024 security update have also been published earlier today. At the same time, Samsung uploaded the revised timeline, pledging regular software updates for a number of Galaxy phones and tablets.

The South Korean tech giant offers monthly, quarterly, and biannual security updates. These releases bring patches for Android OS-related security issues released by Google, as well as, patches for Samsung-specific security issues.

Samsung reiterated that devices launched in 2019 or later will get regular firmware updates for a minimum of four years following their global launch, while select newer devices will receive up to seven years of security updates.
