Android and iPhone apps to get built-in Quick Share support in 2027
Google is making file sharing easier for Android and iPhone users. At Android Dev Summit 2026, the company announced a new Quick Share SDK that will allow developers to add Quick Share directly to their apps. The new feature is expected to arrive in the first half of 2027.
Currently, users have to open the phone’s Share menu and then select Quick Share to send files. With the new SDK, apps will be able to offer Quick Share directly, making the process faster and simpler.
Google will provide SDK support for both Android and iOS. This means iPhone users will also be able to use Quick Share through supported third-party apps.
Google says the new feature will offer secure file transfers with end-to-end encryption. It will also provide fast sharing speeds by using Wi-Fi Direct on supported devices. The technology will automatically manage hotspot connections when needed.
Another useful feature is that users will be able to send photos and videos without losing their original quality due to compression. Quick Share will also work without an internet or cellular connection, making it useful in places with limited network access.
Developers will also benefit from this update as they will not need to build or maintain their own file-sharing systems. When users select Quick Share inside an app, a bottom sheet will appear showing a preview of the files being shared.
With this update, Google aims to make file sharing between Android and iPhone users easier, faster, and more convenient.

Samsung Galaxy users are struggling to connect Android Auto after One UI 9
Some Samsung Galaxy users who recently updated their phones to One UI 9 are reporting an unexpected problem with Android Auto. The feature, which allows users to access apps, navigation, and other phone functions through their car’s display, is reportedly failing to work properly on some devices.
Notably, Android Auto was working fine for some users before the software update, which makes the situation frustrating. Now, several Galaxy owners say their phones either fail to connect to their cars or disconnect without warning.
The issue has been discussed on Reddit and Samsung’s Community forum. Users have also tried different ways to restore the connection, but the results have not been encouraging.
A Galaxy S26 owner tried clearing app data, pairing the phone again and using a wired connection. Unfortunately, none of these attempts worked.
Another user noticed a possible link with the latest software. Samsung phones running One UI 8.5 reportedly connected to Android Auto without any trouble. However, the problem appeared on a Galaxy S24 Ultra after it received the One UI 9 update.
Google is now aware of at least some of these reports. The company confirmed to a Galaxy A55 user that the complaint had been shared with its Android Auto team for further review.
Still, there is no confirmed solution or explanation for the connectivity problems. It is also unknown whether Samsung’s latest software update is directly responsible. Until Google or Samsung provides an official update, affected users will have to wait for a proper fix.

Samsung begins Galaxy S27 Pro Privacy Display production ahead of early 2027 launch
A new industry report signals Samsung Display is set to start the mass production of the OLED panels to be used in the Galaxy S27 Pro. The flagship phone is anticipated to launch alongside three models early next year.
South Korea’s KoreaHerald, citing UBI Research, report that Samsung Display is ramping up OLED production for the Galaxy S27 Pro. The smartphone is said to be equipped with Privacy Display panel, first debuted on Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Initial reports claimed the Korean tech giant would use Privacy Display panels across all models in the Galaxy S27 series. However, newer reports indicate that the Privacy Display technology would be limited to the higher-tier models.
Privacy Display is a hardware-level solution powered by Flex Magic Pixel technology. This innovation allows the panel to block visibility from certain angles. It can be accessed, tweaked and personalized through software interface.
Galaxy S26 Ultra recorded high sales given the adoption of the world’s first Privacy Display solution. For 2027, Samsung is betting on the tech again and ramping up by double the efforts through the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra.
700k Galaxy S27 Pro OLEDs to be produced this month
UBI Research estimates that Samsung Display could produce 700,000 panels for the Galaxy S27 Pro in November 2026. This is a massive target, given the fact that the official reveal of the flagship is due in next year’s February or March.
The total production would be far more than the 700k mark. The lineup consists of base, Plus, Pro, and Ultra, with Ultra historically being the highest sales driver.
Galaxy S27 and S27+ could feature enhanced OLED panels with M14+ material set. Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra could be equipped with Samsung Display’s advanced OLED with M16 material set.

Samsung really renting roast trucks to say ‘skill issue’ to iPhone Duo owners
Samsung isn’t missing a chance to roast Apple over the iPhone Duo display crack problem, with its latest attempt involving renting trucks.
After online trolling, Samsung has sent roast trucks to major locations across Canada for iPhone Duo users. The trucks boast a giant billboard, mocking the competitor’s latest foldable device over the crackgate controversy.
The Korean tech giant is conducting a guerrilla advertising campaign by deploying mobile trucks equipped with massive digital billboards in the downtown areas of major Canadian cities, including Toronto and Vancouver.
The billboards feature an image of display cracks reminiscent of the screen-splitting pattern unique to the iPhone Duo, which has recently been shared across social media, alongside the caption: “Folding. We know a thing or eight.”
Furthermore, addressing consumers anxious about screen damage, the campaign directly encourages switching to the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, which has refined its hinge durability and design over eight generations.
Samsung also posted videos online showing the device being folded and unfolded freely in any direction and manner, indirectly calling out iPhone Duo users who are constantly worried about hinge damage whenever they open or close their phones.
Apple waited years to bring its foldable device to the market. On the other hand, Samsung kept introducing new foldable phones while gathering feedback. iPhone Duo made some mistakes that Samsung’s very first Fold did.
Display crackgate isn’t a minor issue, but a large-scale hardware defect. The hinge is breaking, leaving the screen with a permanent line. Apple’s offering free replacement, but the damage is already done, causing early sales.
