Samsung has finally begun rolling out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The rollout appears to have started in South Korea and should reach more countries in the coming hours or days.

The new update comes with a firmware version ending in AZHA. It is around 460MB in size, so users should make sure their phone has enough free storage and a stable Wi-Fi connection before downloading it.

The appearance of build suggests that Samsung has started preparing One UI 9 for the Galaxy S23 lineup. However, it does not confirm that the beta update will be available to Galaxy S23 users immediately.

At the moment, it is not clear whether Samsung will start a public beta program for the Galaxy S23 series or if the spotted software is only being tested internally. Samsung has also not officially announced a release date for the One UI 9 Beta on these phones.

After spending time with One UI 9 Beta 6, the Galaxy S26 Ultra feels noticeably more polished. Scrolling through menus, switching between apps, opening panels, and moving around the home screen all feel exceptionally fluid.

Samsung has made a useful change in the latest One UI 9 Beta 6 update for the Galaxy S26 series. The update gives users more control over AI Select, a feature that could sometimes open by accident. The new update adds a setting, “Touch and hold for AI select,” which you can find under Edge panels.

Earlier, if users touched and held the Edge Panel handle for too long, AI Select would open automatically. This could happen while simply trying to open the Edge Panel. For some users, this was annoying because the screen would appear to freeze and the AI Select menu would come up.

Now, users can turn off this long-press action. When the setting is disabled, holding the Edge Panel handle will no longer open AI Select. This makes it easier to use the Edge Panel without accidentally triggering the feature.

The best thing is that users do not have to completely give up AI Select. Even after turning off the long-press gesture, AI Select can still be added as a shortcut inside the Edge Panel. Users can then open it manually whenever they need it.

AI Select is Samsung’s newer version of the older Smart Select tool. It allows users to select part of their screen and perform different actions. It can extract text, create GIFs from videos, and send selected images to tools such as Generative Edit and Drawing Assist.

This is a small but helpful improvement. It gives Galaxy S26 users a simple way to avoid accidental AI Select triggers while keeping the feature available when needed.
