One UI 9 no longer important for Galaxy S26 Ultra users
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra users were eagerly awaiting One UI 9, but no longer now. The software update is still relevant, but a recent confirmation from Samsung has made the next software patch more important than the major upgrade.
Galaxy S26 users are reporting a Red tint screen defect, which Samsung claims is a software bug. Earlier this week, Korean media reported that the company is investigating the issue linked to its flagship phone’s display.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to get Red screen fix before One UI 9
A limited number of users reported that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display appears reddish. The panel shows a Red-colored tint effect in a squarish shape. The bug usually maintains symmetric padding on all sides to form a rectangle.
It was discovered that the Red tint is not actually a display defect. Samsung found that the problem is tied to the display panel itself. It can be improved through a recalibration of screen colors, being offered at service centers.
The OLED that Galaxy S26 Ultra uses is different from previous flagship phones. The panel required a different color calibration than legacy settings. This particular aspect remained faulty while shipping the device, Samsung said.
The Korean tech giant said that authorized service centers have started offering a fix to affected units. If you find your phone’s display appears more reddish than it should be, reach out to your nearest Samsung service center.
In addition, Samsung is working on a firmware update, which will tweak the color calibration, potentially recalibrating from scratch. This would address even minor issues so users experience the screen in its optimal state.
Samsung’s firmware update won’t take much time to arrive. The issue is big yet critical, ruining the brand image and the device’s appeal. One UI 9 upgrade would arrive in August or September, but the patch will appear early.

Galaxy S25’s One UI 9 update adds Horizontal Lock, My FanCam, and more new features
Samsung has tailored some unexpected features for the Galaxy S25 series in the One UI 9 update. Leaked firmware has just gave our first look at the newly added features, such as Horizontal Lock, before the official rollout.
One UI 9 is available for Galaxy S26 series in Beta Program. The update seems boring as it doesn’t bring major changes or new features. However, it’s not the case for the S25 series, at least from the early preview, courtesy of @fahadalijaved.
One UI 9 brings impressive new features to Galaxy S25 series
Samsung launched Horizontal Lock camera feature with the Galaxy S26 series. It’s a significantly upgraded version of optical image stabilization (OIS). When enabled, the feature keeps the footage orientation unchanged at all times.
One UI 8.5 update didn’t bring this feature to the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung has finally tailored the Horizontal Lock for last year’s flagships. It’s available in internal firmware, and hopefully survives till the build goes public.
In addition, Galaxy AI is also getting a major boost on the devices. Samsung could bring new AI-powered secure locking, My FanCam, and Bixby Voice features. Warranty and Care hub will also be installed inside Settings.
My FanCam could debut with the new foldable phones next week. It appears to be an upgraded version of Samsung’s Auto Framing. When enabled, the camera will keep tracking the object for optimized video recording.
Secure Lock feature will let you lock your device from the quick panel or hardware keys, pausing fingerprint and facial recognition. Bixby Voice is also here, introducing Samsung’s new AI voice model on your Galaxy device.
Warranty and Care is going to be another big addition. Offered inside system Settings, this hub will have all the crucial features tied to your device, such as health checking, diagnostics, and warranty information.

Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Red screen is a software issue; no hardware defect, OTA update coming
Samsung has reportedly confirmed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s reported Red screen issue is caused by a software color calibration optimization error rather than a display hardware defect.
A trusted Korean news outlet reports that Samsung is already fixing affected units through service center calibration and is preparing an OTA update that will bring the same fix to users once final verification is complete.
The company has confirmed that the reddish rectangular area reported by some users is not the result of a faulty display panel. Instead, the issue stems from software responsible for color calibration on the phone’s new display.
According to Samsung, the problem is tied to color calibration software that wasn’t fully optimized for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s new Privacy Display technology.
A Samsung Electronics official stated, “This is not a display hardware issue, but a matter that can be resolved through color calibration software optimization.”
The company found that the color balance could shift slightly in the center of the display after prolonged exposure to strong ambient lighting while the screen remained at maximum brightness.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first Samsung phone to use the company’s latest OLED implementation, which removes the traditional polarizer to improve light transmission and power efficiency.
That change also required a different calibration profile, and Samsung says the software did not perfectly account for the panel’s characteristics in every scenario.
Samsung is already applying the corrected color calibration software at authorized service centers. For users who can not visit a service center, the company is preparing an over-the-air update that will deliver the same fix.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra design revealed with familiar notch
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra design revealed early in leaked CAD renders. The company isn’t experimenting with a punch-hole design and is continuing the proven notch on the next premium tablet lineup in 2026.
British outlet SmartphoneChecker published CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, revealing the tablet’s design.
According to the leaked CAD data, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures 326.34 × 208.46 × 5.12mm. That strongly suggests the 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is returning without any major changes to its physical footprint.
The images, shared by reliable tipster Onleaks, are reportedly based on factory CAD files used by accessory makers before a product reaches the market. While final retail devices can still differ in small ways, CAD-based leaks have generally proven to be highly accurate when it comes to a device’s overall design.
The company appears to be sticking with the same formula. The renders show two individual rear camera rings, an LED flash, the magnetic S Pen charging area, and the familiar three-pin pogo connector for keyboard accessories.
Recent certification material for the Galaxy Tab S12+ also showed its front camera embedded in the bezel rather than using a hole-punch.
Samsung seems to be taking a measured approach here. Rather than chasing a cosmetic redesign for the sake of marketing, the company may be prioritizing internal upgrades such as a faster chipset, improved software experience, or battery optimizations.
We’ll have to wait for additional leaks to see whether Samsung has saved its biggest upgrades for the hardware beneath the display rather than the design wrapped around it.
