Why Qualcomm defending Snapdragon against Galaxy S27 Ultra heat rumors

Published

Korean media brought a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 heat issue to light, which prompted Qualcomm to defend its innovation. The chip is yet to make its official debut on mobile devices, but allegations make it a credibility check.

Samsung has been equipping its Galaxy S Ultra flagship models with Qualcomm’s most capable Snapdragon mobile platforms. This year was the same, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra bringing Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally.

The other two models, S26 and S26+, come with Exynos 2600 in most markets, while the US, Canada, and China favor the Snapdragon chip. Exynos is doing a good job and is expected to increase its adoption share in the S27 series.

Qualcomm defending Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

A Korean media outlet yesterday reported that Samsung has given Qualcomm a mid-October deadline to address Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 overheating, which emerged after an alleged internal test on the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The report further claimed that Samsung plans to use Exynos 2700 in the Galaxy S27 Ultra in case Qualcomm fails to resolve heat issues of its Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform within the deadline.

The scenario became big enough, requiring Qualcomm to respond.

Qualcomm CMO Don McGuire, commenting on an X post by JasonC, defended the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. He denied any “thermal issues” in the chipset, calling them “100% inaccurate.”

Additionally, Qualcomm’s Don stated that the company is “working closely with Global OEMs to deliver premium user experience.”

“Recent reporting about thermal issues related to Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is inaccurate. We are proud of the innovation and strong momentum behind our next-generation flagship platform and continue to work closely with global OEMs to deliver premium user experiences.”

It seems the rumors were spread strategically. Some assume Qualcomm spreads Exynos failure rumors to change consumer perception, and Samsung, this time, did the same to retain its negotiation power for the chip.

With Qualcomm’s CMO defending Snapdragon, this shouldn’t be taken lightly. The company did its job before massive damage.

Samsung could remove this useful feature from the Galaxy S27 Plus

Published

Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Plus could lose a useful feature that has been available on Plus models for nearly six years. According to recent leaks, the phone may not support Ultra-Wideband (UWB), which helps users find lost items and unlock compatible cars and smart locks.

According to leaker Abhishek Yadav on X, Chinese regulatory listings show UWB support for the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra but not for the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus. If true, this would be a surprising change for the Plus model. However, Samsung has not confirmed these details yet.

UWB makes it easier to find lost items using compatible trackers. It can show the direction and distance of an item more accurately than Bluetooth alone. Without this feature, Galaxy S27 Plus users may find it harder to locate their belongings precisely.

The change could also affect car access. UWB allows users to unlock some compatible cars without taking their phones out of their pockets. NFC digital keys may still work, but users usually need to hold their phones close to a reader. Another feature that could be affected is Samsung Wallet’s Digital Home Key.

This is not the only rumored downgrade. Reports suggest the Galaxy S27 Plus may also miss out on faster wired charging and a selfie camera upgrade expected for the Pro and Ultra models.

Samsung has not officially confirmed these changes, so they should be treated as rumors for now. However, if they prove true, the Galaxy S27 Plus could offer fewer features than previous Plus models. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra SG26U rear camera

Samsung is going to launch its next-generation S series phones early next year. Ahead of its official announcement, a new leak has revealed possible details about the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s thickness, rear camera bump, and display bezels. These details suggest that Samsung could make some changes to the design of its upcoming flagship.

According to reliable tipster @OnLeaks, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could measure 7.97mm in thickness without the rear camera bump. With the camera bump included, the total thickness could reach 12.61mm.

The tipster also claims that the rear camera bump alone measures 4.64mm thick. Additionally, the phone could feature 1.21mm-thick display bezels.

These measurements give us an early idea of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s possible design. The slim body could help the phone maintain a sleek look, while the thin bezels could provide more screen space.

Meanwhile, the camera bump could make the rear camera system stand out. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed these details, so the final design could be different.

Samsung has not yet announced the official launch date of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. More information about its camera, display, battery, and performance could emerge in the coming months. Until Samsung makes an official announcement, these design details should be treated as a leak rather than confirmed information.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Enterprise Edition

Samsung is prepping to launch its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, with some design changes and new features, along with other Galaxy S27 models. While the company has not revealed anything officially, a new leak has shared details about the phone’s bezels and camera bump.

According to a well-known tipster, IceUniverse, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature 1.28mm bezels. In comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has 1.32mm bezels. This means the upcoming phone could have slightly thinner borders around its display, giving it a cleaner look.

The tipster also claims that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could have a 4.69mm camera bump. However, other design details remain unknown, though it reportedly features an upgraded camera. Since these details come from leaks, they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Enterprise Edition

Previous reports suggest that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could use an M16 OLED display. The Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus may feature the improved M14+ display material. These changes could help improve display quality across the lineup.

The phone is also rumored to feature a bigger 5,700mAh battery with 60W charging support. It could charge slightly faster than the Galaxy S26 Ultra because of better battery and heat management.

Samsung may introduce a special Violet color for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This version could be available only through Samsung’s online store. Other rumored colors include Black, Blue, Light Pink, and White. However, Samsung has not confirmed these details yet, so we will have to wait for more information.

Samsung Galaxy A38 camera leak reveals 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro

Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57 Teaser

Samsung Galaxy A38 5G could be equipped with a familiar camera setup. Samsung is working on two mid-range phones for 2027, which could go official after the Galaxy S27 flagship series, sometime in March next year.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A38 5G’s camera specs have already been leaked, bringing bad news. Samsung seems to be reusing the same camera setup it brought to the Galaxy A36 in 2025 and the Galaxy A37 in 2026.

Galaxy A38 camera specs leak:

  • 50-megapixel main camera
  • 12-megapixel ultrawide camera
  • 5-megapixel macro camera
  • 12-megapixel main camera

Samsung was already slow at adopting hardware changes frequently. Now, memory crunch has gave the company a reason to justify slow hardware evolution, however, things may improve in 2028 as DRAM production increase.

Yesterday, GalaxyClub revealed the camera specifications of the Galaxy A58. That model could also reuse the same camera setup as its predecessor, including a 5-megapixel macro sensor, which first debuted in the year 2020.

Galaxy A38 and A58 could be difficult to purchase. Samsung has already trimmed its Q4 smartphone production due to component cost increases. Memory is crushing plans of smartphone vendors as AI infra requires them more.

Galaxy A37 and A57, along with several other models, have already received a substantial price increase in Europe, India, and the US. That said, the next Galaxy A models may be priced even higher than this year’s offerings.

Earlier, battery cells for the Galaxy A38 appeared on India’s BIS certification. This suggests that the smartphone’s development is progressing fast. However, the official debut would only happen after the Galaxy S27 series reveal.
