Galaxy S26 FE was shown in its Blue colorway, featuring the Ambient Island design. The device has adopted a prominent camera island; however, its aesthetic is something different from the other three Galaxy S26 models.

The video also confirmed the Android 17-based One UI 9 software. Galaxy AI features are also included, such as the advanced Photo Assist and Document Scan. You will also have access to the brilliant Horizon Lock camera.

Samsung may launch two Galaxy Z Fold Wide phones in 2027; total five foldables

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, Z Fold 8, and Z Fold 8 Ultra

Galaxy Z Fold 8 may have reshaped Samsung Elec’s foldable ambitions, with the company reportedly planning to launch two Wide models in 2027, bringing the total foldables tally for the next year to five, including the TriFold 2.

According to a fresh report from Korea’s ET News, Samsung is developing not one but two new Wide-screen foldable phones for the 2027 Galaxy Z9 series, which would bring its total foldable smartphone lineup to five devices.

Industry sources say a second wide foldable project has kicked off internally, separate from the standard Fold 8 successor. The project is still in early stages, so exact specs and screen dimensions haven’t been locked down yet.

Meanwhile, insiders suggest Samsung is looking at an aspect ratio tuned more for video watching rather than sticking to the 4:3 ratio it used this year.

Add this second Wide model to the existing Fold, Fold Ultra, and Flip lineup, plus the second-generation TriFold device, and Samsung’s 2027 portfolio could genuinely span five distinct foldable phones.

Apple is also dropping its first foldable model this September. Initial availability could be limited to the US, but the iPhone maker’s entry will make a big impact. It will target dominant vendors, mainly Samsung with global presence.

Samsung’s decision to go wider with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 this year clearly paid off, and the company isn’t wasting time capitalizing on it.

If Samsung wants genuine growth in the foldable segment rather than shuffling the same buyers between two wide models, this second device needs to attract users who haven’t gone foldable yet.

Standard Samsung Galaxy S26 SG26S

Samsung fans may not have to wait much longer for the company’s next Fan Edition phone. The Galaxy S26 FE is reportedly close to launch, and a new leak has now given us a better idea of what the smartphone could look like.

The latest information comes from phone case listings. ARMOR-X has reportedly added cases for the Galaxy S26 FE to its website, giving us several views of the upcoming device. The leaked images suggest that Samsung may offer the phone in a Pistachio shade.

From the front and sides, the Galaxy S26 FE seems to follow the design language of the Galaxy S25 FE. However, the back could look noticeably different as it includes new camera module changes.

Around the cameras, Samsung seems to be using a raised camera section instead of simply placing the camera rings directly on the rear panel. The design looks similar to the camera style seen on the latest S series and Fold series phones.

Samsung could introduce the Galaxy S26 FE as soon as next month. More details about its price, specifications, colors, and availability are likely to emerge before the official announcement.

For now, the leaked cases suggest that Samsung is keeping the familiar FE design while adding a few changes inspired by its flagship Galaxy S26 lineup.

Galaxy S26 Ultra owners can help display experts investigate Red tint issue

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Red Screen Defect

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has been dealing with a fairly annoying Red tint screen problem lately, and now display experts are stepping in to figure out exactly what’s causing it. If you own the phone, you might be able to help.

A number of Galaxy S26 Ultra owners have reported a Red tint/discoloration showing up in the center of their phone’s display. The problem is noticeable when the screen shows solid white or light gray backgrounds at high brightness.

Some users don’t catch it right away, but once you spot it, it’s hard to unsee. This isn’t the first time a Galaxy flagship has run into panel uniformity complaints. The timing and pattern of this issue have caught the attention of independent display testers.

ColorScale wants your data

The YouTube channel ColorScale, known for its deep dives into smartphone and monitor panels using proper spectroradiometric gear, has opened up a public survey to crowdsource information from Galaxy S26 Ultra owners.

  • You can participate here.

The team says they’ve already pulled apart affected units, measured the optical layers inside the display stack, and studied user submissions to narrow down a handful of theories. Now they need broader data to confirm or rule those out.

The survey itself is short, about five minutes, or closer to ten if you’re uploading a photo.

It asks for details like your device’s manufacturing month, purchase date, and whether you notice a brightness or color shift between the center and edges of the screen on a full white display in a dark room.

There’s even a built-in trick for testing this using the phone’s hidden diagnostic menu.

Interestingly, ColorScale is also asking non-affected S26 Ultra owners, and even users of other phones, to fill out the form. Having a solid control group matters just as much as collecting symptomatic cases if the analysis is going to hold up.

Apple faces US pressure to avoid Chinese memory chips

iPhone 17 Pro

Apple is once again caught between its memory supply needs and Washington’s expectations, and this time the pressure is coming from the top.

According to a new report from Wall Street Journal, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has personally pushed back against Apple’s reported interest in sourcing memory chips from Chinese manufacturers CXMT and YMTC.

Apple has spent months exploring alternatives to ease a global memory chip shortage, and Chinese suppliers have emerged as one option on the table.

The problem is that YMTC sits on the US Commerce Department’s Entity List, and both YMTC and CXMT have been flagged by the Pentagon over alleged military ties.

That has made any potential deal politically sensitive, especially with a bipartisan group of senators already asking Apple to steer clear of these companies altogether.

Speaking after a visit to Apple’s manufacturing facility in Houston, Lutnick made the administration’s stance clear, saying there need to be other solutions to the memory shortage that don’t involve American companies relying on Chinese suppliers. He also confirmed that he has communicated this position to Apple directly, and rather bluntly at that.

The Houston visit came just as the company continues rolling out its massive 600 billion dollar domestic manufacturing push, an effort widely seen as an attempt to stay in the administration’s good books. Sourcing memory from Chinese firms right now would send a very different signal.

Apple COO Sabih Khan has noted that memory chips don’t require heavy customization compared to other components, which theoretically makes off-the-shelf Chinese chips workable. But with this level of political resistance, it’s looking less likely that any such deal moves forward anytime soon.
