Until now, getting Aviate onto the Now Bar meant digging through developer options, a workaround that most casual users never bothered with. With official approval in hand (via SamMobile), that extra step disappears entirely.
Once the rollout lands, anyone running a supported Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet will be able to enable Aviate directly from the Now Bar menu, no hidden toggles required.
A growing list of third-party apps
Samsung has been steadily opening up the Now Bar to outside developers since One UI 7, and the pace has picked up with One UI 8 on Android 16.
Aviate joins a small but expanding group of apps building support for Samsung’s real-time Live Update style feature, alongside names like Google Maps and Uber. Whether this extends to devices still on One UI 7 remains unclear for now.
