Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57 may launch early in 2026

Samsung Galaxy A Series

Samsung is preparing an early launch of the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 in 2026. The company usually reveals its premium A phones either at the end of Q1 or the start of Q2, but the timeline may see a major revision.

According to AbhishekYadav, Samsung could launch the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 in February 2026. This timeline indicates that the company may advance the reveal of these smartphones by around a month next year.

Before these two, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy A07 5G later this month or early next month. It will be the cheapest offering from the brand with 5G connectivity.

The tipster has also shared chip and GPU specs of the upcoming phones.

  • Galaxy A57 – Exynos 1680 with Xclipse 550 GPU
  • Galaxy A37 – Exynos 1480 with Xclipse 530 GPU

The two phones will be equipped with Android 16-based One UI 8. It remains to be seen whether the One UI version is bumped to 8.5 at launch. The segment usually shares the same software version as new S devices.

The potential decision to advance the launch seems strategic. It doesn’t align with the usual strategy, as February is considered a month reserved for Galaxy S phones. If new A models arrive in that timeframe, flagships would be affected.

A recent industry report revealed that Samsung will start Galaxy S26 Ultra production this month. Due to a delay in development and spec revision, the production of Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus has been pushed to early next year.

2 key RAM changes coming to Apple iPhone 18 lineup

Published

Apple iPhone 17

iPhone 18 lineup is expected to bring a notable memory upgrade as Apple prepares its devices for deeper Apple Intelligence integration with iOS 27.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that the base iPhone 18 models launching in 2027 could move to 9GB of DRAM, marking a step up from the 8GB memory used in current models.

2 key RAM changes coming to Apple iPhone 18 lineup

iPhone 18 may jump to 9GB RAM

The first key change appears to be tied directly to Apple’s growing AI ambitions. The current A19-based lower-end iPhones reportedly use a 2GB x 4 dies setup, which results in 8GB of memory.

The upcoming A20 chip powering the standard iPhone 18 models is expected to use a different memory configuration, with 1.5GB x 6 dies delivering a total of 9GB RAM.

More RAM could help iPhone 18 models handle on-device AI processing, multitasking, and new iOS 27 features more smoothly without putting extra pressure on the chipset.

iPhone 18 Pro lineup tipped to stay at 12GB RAM

The second key change is that Apple appears to be keeping a clear gap between its standard and Pro models. The company could be focusing more on balancing performance across different price segments.

The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone expected in the second half of 2026 are said to retain 12GB RAM, using the A20 Pro chip with a 1.5GB × 8 dies configuration.

While these details are based on analyst information and have not been confirmed by Apple, the expected RAM changes point toward a future where iPhone hardware is being designed around AI workloads from the start.

Samsung’s rollable phone could launch in Galaxy S28 era with a 10-inch display

Motorola Rollable Phone Concept

Samsung Display is reportedly working toward supplying the display panel for Samsung’s first rollable phone, which is currently targeting a launch in the first half of 2028, the year when the Galaxy S28 series will arrive.

The South Korean tech giant is preparing to move beyond foldable phones as the company’s next major form factor battle appears to be centered around rollable displays.

The upcoming Samsung rollable phone, internally linked to the rumored “Galaxy Z Slide” name, could bring a completely different approach to smartphone design.

Unlike foldable phones that rely on hinges and flexible folding areas, rollable devices expand their screen by extending the display outward.

Market research firm Omdia earlier reported that Samsung’s rollable phone could feature a 10-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 440.6ppi panel.

Samsung has not officially announced the device, but reports from the display industry suggest development is already underway.

A company official reportedly said that Samsung is developing a rollable phone internally, targeting a first-half 2028 release, and that the possibility of using a Samsung Display panel remains high.

Samsung Display has greatly refined foldable panels, with Apple as the largest client. Rollable displays, in the meantime, are a different challenge.

The technology requires much more than simply creating a flexible OLED panel. The display must repeatedly roll and extend while maintaining durability, flatness, brightness, and consistent image quality.

At CES 2023, Samsung Display introduced Flex Hybrid, combining folding and sliding concepts. Later at SID 2023, the company showcased Rollable Flex, a display tech capable of expanding screen size by more than five times.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 early impressions: Samsung may have fixed two biggest problems

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is already creating strong impressions among early testers, and the biggest surprises reportedly have nothing to do with flashy software features.

People in South Korea who handled engineering samples of the foldable are pointing to two hardware changes that could define the next generation: a much lighter feel and a significantly improved inner display crease.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to be unveiled on July 22, but these early impressions are based on engineering samples. Still, the feedback gives an early look at where the company appears to be taking its foldable lineup.

The first thing testers noticed was the weight

The device reportedly feels surprisingly light in the hand. Some engineering samples are said to have come close to 199 grams, which would put the phone in a very different category compared to previous large foldables.

The wider aspect ratio also seems to play a role here. A device that physically looks bigger apparently feels less bulky because the proportions are better balanced.

The second major highlight is the inner display crease

Samsung’s foldables have improved year after year, but the crease has remained one of the biggest visual and physical reminders that you’re using a folding phone.

According to testers, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide takes a huge step forward. Touching the crease area reportedly feels much closer to touching the glass on a traditional smartphone.

One tester described the experience as feeling like a completely new “first generation” of foldable, suggesting the change is noticeable immediately.

If these early impressions hold true, Samsung may finally be addressing two complaints that have followed foldables for years: they are too heavy, and they still feel too much like a compromise.

Samsung should prepare for Apple’s nonstop foldable iPhone launches and Air 2

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Foldable Phone Hinge and Crease

Apple reportedly added the 2nd-gen foldable iPhone to its product pipeline, and Samsung should prepare for it. The company could launch the iPhone Air 2 next year, while the iPhone Air 3 hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Weibo leaker DigitalChatStation reports that Apple has internally confirmed the 2nd-gen foldable iPhone, and it could feature a familiar wide-screen design. With the first iPhone Fold coming this year, the 2nd-gen model may land in 2027.

Samsung and Apple launched their first slim phones in 2025. Samsung tried to bring the Galaxy S26 Edge earlier this year, but dumped its decision. Meanwhile, Apple postponed its 2nd-gen Air to 2027 due to sluggish sales.

Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone is said to launch with the name iPhone Ultra. Samsung is the biggest rival, which will be facing a decline in its foldable sales. That said, Samsung should now prepare for a nonstop foldable battle with Apple.

Like S25 Edge, Samsung has a preemptive move for the iPhone Ultra. The company is bringing two Galaxy Z Fold models this year. The Z Fold 8 has given a wide screen, while the Fold 7 sequel has been promoted to Fold 8 Ultra.

Apple took years to join the foldable smartphone segment. The official entry is slated for September this year, and the company looks serious about the future of its foldable journey as the 2nd model is getting internal approval.

Standard Samsung Galaxy S26 SG26S

After the standard Galaxy S27, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Plus, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra also appeared on GSMA records. Samsung is reshaping its flagship strategy, and 2027 will welcome four premium phones.

According to ErencanYılmaz (via OVR+), Samsung Galaxy S27 Plus, Pro, and Ultra models have visited the GSMA database. Appearance of the upcoming phones follows the initial listing of the base Galaxy S27 model.

The base, Plus, and Ultra models have surfaced for the US market, whereas the Pro version is for the Global market with dual SIM support. Well, it doesn’t mean that the Galaxy S27 Pro will not be available for purchase in the US.

  • Galaxy S27 – SM-S952U
  • Galaxy S27 Plus – SM-S956U
  • Galaxy S27 Pro – SM-S957B/DS
  • Galaxy S27 Ultra – SM-S958U

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 strategy is taking shape, and the Pro variant is being added to the lineup. We’ve heard about some specifications, which include display size, privacy display testing, camera sensors, and processor.

Samsung Galaxy S27 series GSMA listing

Galaxy S27 Pro may feature a 6.47-inch screen, probably with Privacy Display tech. Samsung is reportedly testing a 3.5x Telephoto camera as well. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip will power this upcoming flagship.

Samsung tried to kill the Galaxy S26 Plus this year and bring the S26 Edge to the lineup. However, the company ended up cancelling the S26 Edge and retaining the S26 Plus, but this year’s approach is something different.

The company is keeping what works and adding what to experiment. If Galaxy S27 Pro sells well, it could finally replace the Plus model.
