Recently, an exciting development from Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow 2024 competition has captured the spotlight. Samsung awarded SilentGuide developers for innovating smart glasses to help individuals with hearing impairments.

As Samsung’s own XR Smart Glasses are on the verge of being unveiled, the award to a group of students makes it a topic of discussion. Do note that SilentGuide won’t be Samsung’s XR Glasses, it just comes in a time of Unpacked 2025.

Samsung’s XR Smart Glasses will likely offer immersive experiences, such as real-time translations or visual overlays. As we wait for the official reveal, innovations like SilentGuide show just how far AR can go to change lives for the better.

The Galaxy Unpacked is confirmed for January 22 in San Jose, California. The company will launch the new Galaxy S25 flagship phones. More products such as Galaxy S25 Slim, XR Headset and Glasses, and Galaxy Ring 2 may be teased.

Hearing Impaired SilentGuide

It is a pair of smart glasses developed by a group of students from Anglo-Chinese School. The solution aims to bridge the communication gap for people with hearing loss, leveraging the extended and augmented reality techs.
