The rumored Slim and Ultra version of Galaxy Z Fold 6 could launch as Special Edition. Now, a credible leaker revealed the primary camera of the device. If it becomes true, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 buyers will surely regret their purchase.

According to Evan Blass, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could use the 200-megapixel primary camera. It could be the same sensor used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, featuring 2x optical quality zoom.

Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in China and Korea. In case the smartphone expands to the United States, the Z Fold 6 buyers will feel bad. S Pen isn’t supported but there are many other advantages.

The Special Edition Fold is expected to be around 10mm thick. It would have a 6.5″ cover and an 8.0″ inner screen. The company has reportedly removed digitizer material from both sides of the panel to reduce the thickness by ditching the S Pen support.

We could see slimmer foldable smartphones in the coming years. Recently, a Korean startup developed a 2.5mm hinge for foldable phones. The current foldable phones’s hinges are about 2.85mm thick, developed by Samsung Elec.

Samsung could debut the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim Edition in September in South Korea. Later, the smartphone may be expanded to China, countering local brands. We might see major upgrades in next year’s foldable models from Samsung.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be slim like the Z Fold Special Edition. However, it would require a lot of engineering to reduce thickness without removing the S Pen support. Keep your popcorn ready and watch what epic Samsung has in its pipeline.
