Samsung Galaxy A35 January 2025 update

Samsung will soon launch the Galaxy M35 and Galaxy F35 in India. The company has recently got approval for two upcoming smartphones from BIS, the country’s certification authority.

91mobiles spotted the Samsung Galaxy M35 and Galaxy F35 on the BIS database in India. The handsets bear model numbers SM-M356B/DS and SM-E356B/DS, with support for 5G and dual SIM confirmed.

Samsung has recently released the Galaxy M15 and M55 in India. These devices offer identical design and features to the Galaxy A15 and A55. Similarly, the M35 and F35 could follow the same strategy and be sold as a rebadged A35.

Modern punch-hole display is the biggest upgrade in the Galaxy A35 5G. Therefore, it would be interesting to see whether Samsung expands this modern design to the upcoming Galaxy M35 and F35 or not.

Apple gears up for 20th Anniversary iPhone – It might be Samsung’s biggest threat yet

Samsung Galaxy S25 and Apple iPhone 16

Apple is working on a new iPhone for 2027, celebrating 20 years of the iPhone. This special launch could bring big changes and might make it tough for Samsung to keep up.

Back in 2017, Apple marked the iPhone’s 10th year with the iPhone X. It had a new OLED screen, Face ID, and no home button. The 2027 iPhone could bring similar big updates.

ETNews reports that Apple plans to use a new chip for the screen called a 16nm FinFET DDI. It’s better than the current 28nm chip and saves power, which is important for AI features.

This new chip could mean a fresh screen design. Apple will soon talk with Samsung Display and LG Display, which make iPhone screens, to plan these changes.

Apple is also looking at pure silicon batteries. These use silicon instead of graphite to hold more power, so the phone lasts longer. This could beat Samsung’s phones.

Another idea is an under-display camera, or UDC. It hides the camera under the screen for a cleaner look. Samsung has tried this, but Apple might do it better.

Apple is exploring four-sided bending screens, too. These would have no edges, making a full-screen phone. This could make Samsung’s foldable phones less special.

An expert said Apple waits until new tech is ready to give users the best experience. But for the 20th anniversary, Apple might try bold ideas, like with the iPhone X.

The phone’s changes are already affecting suppliers. Samsung, which makes phones and supplies Apple’s screens, will need to step up to match Apple’s plans. This 2027 iPhone could set new standards for phones, potentially taking sales from Samsung.

Samsung showcases Polygon Foldable concept with bold design, Cybertruck vibes

Samsung Polygon Foldable Concept

At Display Week 2025, Samsung showcased a striking concept phone: the Polygon Foldable. This device, with its unique metallic design, caught attention for its bold aesthetic, giving vibes of Tesla’s Cybertruck.

Samsung has a history of experimenting with bold concepts. The Polygon Foldable joins this tradition, pushing boundaries with its Cybertruck-like aesthetic.

While it’s unlikely to hit shelves, it shows Samsung’s willingness to explore new ideas.

The Samsung Polygon Foldable concept stands out with its angular, metallic body. It has a hefty, solid feel that adds to its premium vibe, and this weight comes from its mostly metal construction, which gives it a distinctive look.

Samsung allowed hands-on access at the event (via AndroidAuthority), revealing a smaller front display due to the phone’s design. While this might not suit everyone, the trade-off is a visually striking device that feels sturdy and well-crafted in hand.

The report says that the user interface on both internal and external displays felt unpolished, with some glitches. The external cameras were also non-functional, displaying the screen underneath instead of capturing images.

It’s more about showcasing Samsung’s foldable display technology than delivering a market-ready device. It highlights what’s possible with innovative design, but the rough software and fake cameras suggest it’s a prototype.

If you’re wondering to upgrade to a foldable smartphone, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 or Z Fold 6 are solid choices. They offer polished performance and proven technology, unlike the experimental Polygon Foldable.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera

Samsung is preparing to bring the Selfie Camera Log Video feature to its latest Galaxy flagships. The next month’s security patch or the Android 16-based One UI 8 upgrade would include the advanced videography feature.

Galaxy S25 series would be the initial receiver of the new Selfie Camera Log Video feature with either the June 2025 or One UI 8 update. It would land on even older models, including the Galaxy Z Fold6, Flip6, and S24 series.

Samsung’s Korean community moderator has also teased that the Log Video support for the Front Camera would be provided to older models, which came on radar of Alfaturk.

On May 14, 2025, the community moderator shared that full log shooting support will be provided for existing log-supported devices, with a schedule to be announced soon.

Log video

The feature might arrive as early as the June 2025 update. If Samsung keeps it reserved, One UI 8 is expected to bring front camera log recording to these devices later in 2025.

For now, log video recording is available only on the rear cameras of the Galaxy S25 and S24 series. The S25 series launched with this feature, while the S24 series got it through the One UI 7 update.

Samsung fans can look forward to this upgrade. Whether it arrives in June 2025 or with One UI 8, the front camera log video feature will enhance the creative potential of these popular devices.

Samsung may borrow iPhone’s battery innovation for future phones

Published

Samsung Galaxy S25 Battery

Samsung may adopt a battery technology similar to Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max. This involves stainless steel “SUS CAN” designs to boost energy density and charging speed while reducing battery swelling during use.

Note that Samsung SDI has evolved its battery-making process. Around 2020, it shifted from winding materials into a “jelly roll” to stacking them like steps. This stacking method is now used for small batteries, improving efficiency.

New EU rules, set for 2027, will require user-replaceable batteries. This may lead Samsung to revisit prismatic battery designs, common in feature phones. Unlike the pouch batteries, the prismatic solution could need thicker packs.

ATL might bring similar innovations to Samsung’s future phones. Competition between ATL and Samsung SDI for battery supply is expected to heat up, potentially driving further advancements in battery tech.

Samsung’s focus on battery innovation could reshape the Galaxy lineup. By adopting Apple-inspired battery tech and adapting to regulations, the company aims to boost battery life and user experience in its future models.

Well, such bold changes in the battery segment require thorough testing and evaluation. However, the EU battery deadline is also approaching. Hence, Samsung needs to consider a deployment strategy, with Galaxy S or Z models in 2026.

A battery breakthrough in the Galaxy S26 series is likely, meanwhile, Samsung hasn’t disclosed its plans. In case the S26 lineup skips battery tech upgrade, we may see the new battery solution in the Galaxy S27 series in 2027.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro

Samsung is reportedly planning to remove the Plus model from its upcoming Galaxy S26 series and may add a new Edge model instead. Similarly, Apple is also expected to replace the Plus model in its iPhone 17 series with a new Air model. In addition to these changes, Apple is preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone next year, with plans to release a new foldable model each year moving forward.

According to the ETNews, Apple is working on a foldable iPhone, which is expected to be released next year. This will be a big change in Apple’s strategy, as the company plans to launch a new foldable iPhone every year.

Apple is currently selecting the materials and parts it will need to make its foldable device. This will be the first foldable iPhone from Apple.

Samsung is currently the leader in the foldable phone market. Although foldable phones are only 2% of the global smartphone sales but the market is slowly growing as Chinese companies like Huawei and Honor launch new models.

Apple is working on making its foldable iPhone different from Samsung’s. For that, Apple is focusing on improving the crease to make it less noticeable. The company is also trying to improve the hinge.

Moreover, Apple’s foldable phone is expected to have a screen size of 7-8 inches and will fold inward. The company might release the foldable phone as a completely new type of device, rather than just another foldable phone
