Alleged Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro surfaced featuring a 578mAh battery. The company is said to launch three models with its next smartwatch lineup. The certification indicates that the Pro version is making a comeback after its debut with the Watch 5 series.

Possible Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Pro certified with a battery comparable to Watch 5 Pro. A report says that the South Korean tech giant might bring a Galaxy Watch 7 Pro as a true successor to the Watch 5 Pro that was launched in the second half of 2022.

The Galaxy Watch 7 Pro (SM-L70x) is expected to use the battery with product number EB-BL705ABY and a rated capacity of 578 mAh. However, there’s no authentic information on the naming strategy – whether it will be sold as Pro or continuing Classic.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 series in July 2024. The next-gen wearable lineup is said to offer Galaxy AI-powered health features. Rumors also claim that the company is considering a square form factor ditching the circular one.

Wear OS 6 to bring Facer back to Samsung Galaxy Watch

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 January 2025 update

Samsung is currently preparing the One UI 8 Watch Beta Program for Galaxy Watches. Ahead of that, new information has been surfacing about the return of the Facer on Samsung Watches with Wear OS 6.

Facer is a popular app for customizing watch faces, and it is coming back to Samsung Watch when the new Wear OS 6 update is released later this year. This means that the One UI 8 Watch, based on Wear OS 6, will bring back the Facer app.

This customization app is used to be available on Galaxy Watches, giving users access to thousands of cool and unique watch faces. But when Google released Wear OS 5, it blocked apps like Facer. This was done to help improve battery life, as some users had issues with their watches draining quickly after using certain custom watch faces.

At Google’s recent I/O event, the company announced Wear OS 6 and shared that it will now allow Facer and similar apps to work again. This change is made possible through the Watch Face Push API. It lets third-party apps like Facer add their watch faces alongside the built-in ones, without needing to list each one separately in the Play Store.

However, there is a small catch. This new system only supports watch faces made with a specific format (XML-based Watch Face Format). So not all of Facer’s watch faces will be available right away. Developers will need to update their designs, and the full library will grow over time.

Google introduced the Wear OS 6 upgrade with Material 3 Expressive design and Gemini integration. The next wearable platform is set to elevate the smartwatch experience with Google’s new design language and AI assistant. Along with this, One UI 8 Watch will reportedly take the Galaxy Watch experience to the next level with new features and UI.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

Leaked CAD renders showcase Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 Classic with Ultra-like squaricle design and iconic bezel. The renders give us our first look at the product, which was in the rumors mill for a few months.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic should launch in July, alongside Samsung’s foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This follows Samsung’s usual schedule for smartwatch releases, and fans are already excited about the return of a beloved feature.

The star of the show (via SammyGuru) is the physical rotating bezel, a hallmark of earlier Classic models like the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. It’s back, offering smooth, tactile navigation for menus or fitness tracking, and users love its intuitive feel.

The renders reveal a squircle-shaped body, taking cues from the Watch Ultra. Unlike the Ultra’s static circular frame, the Classic’s bezel rotates and sports anti-slip ridges. A three-button setup, including a crown-style button between two side keys.

These renders, while unofficial, align with leaks from trusted sources. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic seems to mix innovation with tradition, pairing a modern look with the iconic bezel. We’ll get the full reveal this summer, so stay tuned.

Leaked specs

Leaked firmware suggests One UI 8 Watch, with Gemini AI and advanced health features. Think “personal health coach” and a “vascular load” metric for deeper fitness insights. These could make the watch a standout.

Battery details are still unclear, but certifications point to a 435mAh capacity for larger models, up slightly from the Galaxy Watch 7’s 425mAh. This might mean a small boost in battery life, but nothing dramatic.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Stable One UI 6 update

Samsung is getting ready to launch its next smartwatches – the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Right now, both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 models have just received 3C certification in China, which means they are one step closer to being released.

The 3C certification spotted by Xpertpick shows two model numbers, SM-L3350 and SM-L5050. These are believed to be for the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. These watches are expected to be announced in July 2025, likely alongside Samsung’s new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

Moreover, the listing confirms that both watches will support LTE, 10W charging, and may come with Samsung’s EP-T1510 travel charger. Although the 3C listing doesn’t give too many details, more information has already appeared in past leaks.

Earlier, the Galaxy Watch 8 series also appeared on the FCC certification website. According to that, both models will support LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, 10W wired charging, and wireless charging.

Like the current watch series, reports claim that both models will come in different sizes. Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra with its foldables in July, so a similar launch timeline is expected this year.

However, it is still unclear if Samsung will launch a new version of the Watch Ultra this year. This year, Samsung is bringing back the Classic model with the Galaxy Watch 8, which was removed in the Watch 7 series. Stay tuned for more information.

Google Pixel Watch Wear OS 6

Google introduced the Wear OS 6 upgrade with Material 3 Expressive design and Gemini integration. The next wearable platform is set to elevate the smartwatch experience with Google’s new design language and AI assistant.

On top of that, Wear OS 6 brings smoother animations, better battery life, and enhanced personalization. Samsung announced Gemini for Galaxy Watch is coming later in 2025, while the Expressive design will be deployed gradually.

The design of Wear OS 6 focuses on the round display of smartwatches. Scrolling animations trace the curvature of the screen, creating a fluid feel. As you scroll, lists animate to add depth, making information easier to access and navigate.

Using the pin pad or controlling media now feels more responsive, thanks to updated motion and feedback by Material 3 Expressive. Shape-morphing elements adapt smoothly to the smaller screen, ensuring a seamless experience.

Dynamic color-theming is a standout feature. The theme you pick for your watch face will apply across the entire system, creating a unified look. Wear OS 6 also introduces glanceable buttons that stretch to fit the display.

In addition, Wear OS Tiles are more engaging, offering quick access to actions like texting contacts or starting workouts. Google has optimized Wear OS 6 for better performance, delivering up to 10% more battery life.

Google also disclosed that more design enhancements are in the works with partners. Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch, will get these updates first later in 2025. Galaxy devices would also be treated as a priority, along with Pixel phones.
