Samsung provides AI-powered HRM service for smart management

Published

Samsung HRM service

Samsung is enhancing the way we manage home appliances with its ‘Home Appliance Remote Management’ (HRM) service. This service uses advanced AI to monitor appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. It warns users of possible issues before they become big problems and also advises when to replace consumables such as filters.

HRM services utilize the latest AI and software technologies. AI applied to HRM plays a role in analyzing big data accumulated in SmartThings. If an abnormal signal is found in a home appliance, SmartThings sends a notification before a breakdown occurs and provides instructions on how to do a self-inspection.

For more complex issues, Samsung’s service center can remotely diagnose problems, making repairs quicker and easier. The Samsung HRM service is mainly useful for ensuring air conditioners are ready for the summer heat. Additionally, the SmartThings app helps users save energy with its ‘AI saving mode’ by tracking power consumption.

Looking ahead, Samsung plans to expand HRM’s capabilities to improve convenience and reliability for users. Oh Seung-hoon, executive director at Samsung, notes that the AI and software technologies behind HRM will continue to advance.

HRM service is also available for larger systems in hotels, medical facilities, and production plants, helping to manage costs and efficiency.

Samsung devices Circle to search feature

Circle to Search will be getting a significant functional boost later this year. At I/O 2024, Google confirmed to upgrade Android’s Circle to Search with the ability to help you get your homework done. The service will add support for Math and Physics topics to help users.

Google teased at I/O 2024 that Circle to Search will add new features, helping students better understand potentially difficult class topics. Looking at what Google teased, the feature could show them step-by-step instructions for a “range of physics and math word problems.”

Thanks to the LearnLM AI models, Circle to Search will be capable of understanding and demonstrating symbolic formulas, diagrams, graphs, and more. When available, it will be accessible as an experimental feature which could be activated through Google Account under the Labs section.

To recall, Circle to Search was first released with Samsung’s S24 series earlier this year. Later on, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro received it through an OTA upgrade. It’s one of the star new features of Android, and although iOS users can’t yet circle their math homework for help, anything is possible.
