Samsung confirms 9 devices for Galaxy AI and One UI 6.1 update

At Unpacked January 2024, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI capabilities, and One UI 6.1 features. In a new development, Samsung confirmed which Galaxy devices will receive Galaxy AI features and One UI 6.1 update.

The South Korean tech giant earlier confirmed that the Galaxy AI experience will be available on many Galaxy devices within the first half of the year. However, Samsung confirmed to AndroidAuthority (via email) which Galaxy devices are eligible for Galaxy AI-loaded One UI 6.1 update.

According to the info, Galaxy S24’s Galaxy AI features will be rolled out to Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Fold 5, Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus, and Tab S9 Ultra. It doesn’t mean that the Galaxy S22 and S21 series are excluded, however, they just don’t get mentioned.

Many of the Galaxy AI features introduced on Galaxy S24 will also be supported on previous models including Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series within 1H 2024. Please stay tuned for more details. – Samsung confirmed to AndroidAuthority via email.

Samsung, at the event, showcased some of the most striking One UI 6.1 features including Live Translate, Chat Assist, enhanced Android Auto, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Circle to Search, upgraded Nightography capabilities, Galaxy AI editing tools, Edit Suggestion and Instant Slow-mo.

In the third week, Samsung rolled out the June 2024 security update for several devices including the Galaxy A42 5G, A52s, A54 5G, XCover 6 Pro, XCover 7, and Galaxy A53, with plans to expand this update to more countries.

One UI 6.1 update has been released for Galaxy M04, Galaxy A14 4G, Galaxy A24, Galaxy A25 5G, and Galaxy A23. This update brings several new features and enhancements to provide a next-level experience.

In addition to the security updates, Samsung is actively developing both One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14 and One UI 7.0 based on Android 15.

One UI 7.0 is expected to introduce enhancements such as improved clock format alignment, addressing issues noted with QuickStar.

A community moderator also confirmed that the forthcoming One UI 6.1 update will effectively be equivalent to One UI 6.1.1. Its role as a seamless binary-level patch aimed at enhancing user experience.

Meanwhile, Samsung pushed a fresh update for the Samsung Theme Park app, which includes code adjustments to ensure compatibility with One UI 6.1.1. This means users will able to enjoy the new features and improvements of One UI 6.1.1 on their Samsung devices.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra design revealed in CAD renders via Onleaks. The tablet is said to have the same size (dimensions) as its predecessor. While Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra was crazy thin, the next Ultra tablet might be slightly thicker for user convenience.

Renders showcase that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will have quad speakers tuned by AKG. The tablet’s right side will hold the power and volume buttons, while the back will feature magnetic charging functionality for the S Pen stylus.

The Tab S10 Ultra could continue to sport a 14.6-inch display. Due to the dual front camera, the screen will have a notch, another similarity from the Tab S9 Ultra. On the back, the tablet will have dual camera sensors, probably an ultrawide paired with primary.

Detailed specs are not known, but Samsung’s processor pick will be worth highlighting. Anyways, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra boasting Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon X Elite will be worth welcoming. Well optimized software will offer enhanced battery life for maximum usage.
