Samsung tests Galaxy S24 (One UI 6.1) features on Galaxy S21 FE
Samsung is not only working on its next flagship series, the Galaxy S24, but also on bringing some of its features to older devices. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is one of the budget-friendly devices that will receive the One UI 6.1 update soon.
According to the information by @Tarunvats, the Galaxy S21 FE is currently testing the One UI 6.1 build as a build version spotted on the Checkfirm platform. Identified via version G990BXXU6GXA3, One UI 6.1 testing is going on for the Snapdragon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE smartphone.

The new build version indicates that Samsung is optimizing some of the Galaxy S24 features for the Galaxy S21 FE, such as improved camera performance, enhanced privacy options, and new customization options.
However, the Galaxy S21 FE may not get all the features of the Galaxy S24, especially the ones that rely on the hardware capabilities of the new devices but Samsung will surely make the device more useful and better.
The Galaxy S21 FE is not the only device that will get the One UI 6.1 update. Samsung is also testing the new software on the Galaxy S23 series, S22 series, A34, A54, Z Flip 5, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 4, and Z Fold 4.
The company is expected to unveil the One UI 6.1 software along with the Galaxy S24 series on January 17 and roll out the update for older devices by the end of February or early March 2024.
Samsung has rolled out an April 2024 update for the Call app on One UI devices, bringing it to version 15.2.00.62. The update is available on the Galaxy Store with a package size of 26.89 MB.
The update improves the app by fixing bugs that affect performance and stability. In addition, it enhances some functions of the apps to provide a better experience. Although no new features are introduced, users can expect a more reliable app experience after the update.
Samsung Call April 2024 update is compatible with Galaxy devices running Android 13 or Android 14. To install the update, users should go to the Galaxy Store, open the menu, and select ‘Updates’. Then, they can refresh the Call app listing to start the update process.
Aside from this, Samsung also provides a feature that allows users to customize their call screen. To change the call background, users can open the Call app, go to the menu, select ‘Settings’, and then ‘Call Background’. Here, they can choose an image or video to set as the background for incoming calls.

Top Samsung and Google officials recently discussed AI collaboration, report KoreaHerald. Samsung’s TM Roh and Google’s Rick Osterloh met in Seoul on Thursday and talked about ways to strengthen their partnership on artificial intelligence.

With the Galaxy S24 launch, Samsung showed off its AI collab with Google, debuting Circle to Search. As far as the recent meeting is concerned, it was all about artificial intelligence, however, the topic of the two chiefs’ gathering is unknown.
The meeting becomes more important as Google has recently appointed Rick as Senior Vice President of the Platforms and Devices team. There were rumors that Gemini Nano v2 will be introduced with the S25 series with some Pixel and Galaxy exclusive features.
