Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 May 2024 update

Smartphone camera can’t be defined with just a higher number of megapixels. Other than a solid hardware configuration, software plays a key role, in bringing user-friendly features. Thankfully, photos are even cooler with AR Zone, as you can complete your expressions with cute stickers on Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The AR (augmented reality) technology which combines 2D and 3D has been translated into filters on various platforms. On Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5, AR is summarized in an application called AR Zone. Using it, you can choose emojis, stickers, or create doodle sketches when taking videos in real-time.

In addition, users can get AR Zone automatically embedded in the camera by downloading it first at the Galaxy Store. Once downloaded, the AR Zone can be accessed by selecting another menu on the camera screen. There are six menus available in the AR Zone that you must know, including:

  1. AR Emoji Studio for designing emojis in the form of self-portraits
  2. AR Emoji Camera for taking photos and videos with AR emojis
  3. AR Emoji Stickers for making emoji stickers
  4. AR Doodles for drawing doodle on the camera
  5. Deco Pic for adding stickers to photos and videos
  6. Quick Measure for taking measurements using AR on the camera.

Users only need to shift the menu option on the camera to ‘other’. After that, you can see the words AR Zone automatically embedded in the top right menu option.

Once done, you can choose the menu option you want to create, for example, when you select the AR Doodle menu in Flex Mode, the screen at the bottom of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will display a pen icon that you can use to paint a sketch on your face or other photos you want to take.

As it uses AR technology, the images you embed can follow moving objects. So, the experience of working with images on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will certainly be very different. Just by folding the phone in FlexMode, you can freely arrange emojis, stickers or create your best doodles with two hands.

One UI 6.1.1 6.1 features

Samsung has officially confirmed that its upcoming One UI 6.1 update will be equivalent to One UI 6.1.1. This major update aims to address specific user interface concerns recently reported.

A user recently highlighted an issue where, after updating to One UI 6.1, the alignment of the clock and date elements became irregular when using the default font. However, this issue was not observed with other fonts.

In response to this, a Samsung community moderator acknowledged the issue and assured users that they are actively working on a fix. Further, he explained that adjustments to UI elements like the clock and date alignment require specific corrections.

The fix for the issue will be implemented in the next One UI 6.1 update. He also mentioned that the next One UI 6.1 is equivalent to the One UI 6.1.1. This update will be delivered to users as a binary-level patch to ensure a seamless experience.

One UI 6.1-based upcoming software update for some Galaxy devices, excluding foldable and large screen models, will include features from One UI 6.1.1. Some Galaxy flagships are expected to receive these One UI 6.1.1 features by late July or early August 2024.

Prototype Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6: Have looks

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Dummy

Images of prototype Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 give us a closer look at Samsung’s upcoming foldables. The images of prototype/dummy units are obtained by 9to5Google, claiming to showcase crease and design. While the design can be considered, the crease can’t be like this.

Dummy units are made for just reference purposes at the device. These products have the same design measurements and weight as the original units. However, dummy manufacturers use cheap quality materials to create dummies, which have quite different attributes.

Considering dummy units, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold device would have a wider cover screen. The screen ratio of the internal panel may also be enhanced to offer a better user experience. The width of the cover screen is extended by reducing the side bezel of the Z Fold 5.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 looks almost the same as its predecessor. Whether it’s the camera arrangement or the design of the cover screen, everything looks the same. The improvements are expected to be seen in the hinge appearance and durability.
