Samsung One UI Pin App: You may have skipped this feature!

One UI 6.1 Enhanced Motion photo feature

Samsung One UI introduces a Pin App feature allowing you to prevent your phone’s access from snooping eyes. The company’s latest One UI 6.1-powered Galaxy S24 series also boasts the Pin App feature, which you may have skipped trying.

Beyond protection, the Pin App also acts as a Do Not Disturb sign, preventing awkward pop-up notifications that risk showing sensitive information when you only want to share a funny social media post. Let’s explore the feature and learn how to activate it on your Galaxy.

One UI 6.1 Pin App:

There’s a feeling you get when you hand over your phone to show your holiday snaps, or something funny. But then they open another app and now see a photo, message, or anything else you didn’t intend to show them. One UI 6.1’s Pin App feature can stop that from happening.

The Pin App is a personal bodyguard for your smartphone’s apps, stopping people from entering where they’re not allowed by the owner. Rather, the tool keeps them exactly where they’re supposed to be — in the app you’ve pinned — and nowhere else.

How to setup?

Simply go to your Settings, then into Security and Privacy. Next, scroll down and find More Security Settings, and you can toggle the switch for Pin App on (tap on the text to view more settings).

  • Tip:  For extra security, you can choose “Ask for PIN before unpinning.”

Once setup, open the app you want to pin. Tap the Recents button (or swipe up and hold if you’re using swipe gestures) then tap the icon above the app. Select the ‘Pin this app’ option, and that’s it.
