OnePlus Open 2 to use more powerful Snapdragon chip than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6

OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open 2 is reportedly delayed to 2025 in favor of a fruitful chipset upgrade. Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July this year, whereas its toughest competitor seemingly pushed it to 2025, skipping a release later this year.

X tipster @That_Kartikey claims that the OnePlus Open 2 may not be coming this year. Oppo’s strategic foldables: Find N5 series is also reportedly halted. Another fairly reliable tipster @chunvn8888 revealed that the launch is scheduled for next year instead.

The next OPPO and OnePlus foldables would be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Therefore, a delayed launch would result in a pretty beneficial upgrade.

OnePlus debuted its first foldable smartphone in late last year. It is a pretty powerful foldable handset, featuring pro-grade specifications. In 2023, it was the first time that Samsung faced a double-sided attack from Google and OnePlus in its foldable business.

While OnePlus delaying its foldable product, Samsung has also entered a review of the affordable Fold plan. The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE might not be released this year due to many reasons. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 7 FE may be launched alongside regular models next year.

Circle to Search may let you use Samsung phone as barcode scanner

Published

Circle to Search in-line translation support

Google is working on another upgrade for the Circle to Search feature. In an APK Teardown, AndroidAuthority discovered that Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel users will be able to use the Circle to Search feature as a barcode scanner.

The latest Beta version of the Google app (15.19.45.29.arm64) has evidence of the existence of barcode scanner ability for Circle to Search. Currently, when you circle a barcode from your screen, it just opens the barcode from Google Search rather than scanning the circled one.

Seeing the popularity of the feature, Google is continuously exploring new features. Earlier, the company added a translation capability to enhance the user experience. Notably, Circle to Search also supports the text field so you don’t have to spend much effort in searching.

You’ll notice the string has the word “omnient” right before “barcode_action.” It’s worth noting that the barcode scanner function isn’t working in the latest Beta. While the existence is confirmed, a public rollout is expected to kick off shortly.

Earlier this year, Samsung’s  Galaxy S24 series debuted the Circle to Search feature developed by Google. So far, several Samsung Galaxy devices have received the epic way of searching apart from all Tensor-powered Google Pixel devices.
