Google Messages has a new feature for Wear OS users, Voice Memo support. This feature allows users to send and listen to voice memos from their Wear OS smartwatches including Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4.
The Voice Memo feature was announced last month and is now rolling out to users who have the latest Google Messages for Wear OS beta version 20231010_01_RC00.
To use it, you just need to open a chat on your watch and tap the microphone icon. You will see a new option called “Voice message” with a waveform icon. Tap it and start recording your voice. You have 59 seconds to record, and you can stop and send it anytime.
Moreover, you can also play voice messages that you get on your watch, but you can’t change the volume. The watch crown only lets you scroll the chat. The new feature makes Google Messages more fun and convenient on Wear OS. It also competes with other apps like WhatsApp that have voice memo functionality on Wear OS.
