YouTube Music updates its miniplayer with permanent Cast button

Published

on

Samsung Clock YouTube Music

YouTube Music has a new look for its miniplayer, the small bar that shows the current song and allows playback control. The new design has a Cast button that lets you send music to other devices, like your TV or speakers. However, it also replaces the next song button and the option to clear your queue.

You can still skip songs by swiping left or right on the miniplayer, which is new gesture. But if you want to stop playing music or start a new queue, you have to remove each song one by one from the Up Next list. That’s not cool at all, especially if you have a lot of songs in your queue.

The new design is available on Android phones and tablets, but not on iOS yet. Some YouTube Music users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the change and have requested YouTube to revert to the old design but YouTube has not responded to their feedback and has continued with the change.
