In July 2024, Samsung added a new device to its Wearable lineup – the Galaxy Ring. Featuring a sleek design and several health-tracking functions, the Samsung Galaxy Ring provides a convenient way to monitor your heart rate during exercise.
Users of the Galaxy Ring can easily measure their heart rate, as the device offers both automatic and manual measurement options. The Galaxy Ring automatically tracks your heart rate during walking and running if you have turned on the automatic exercise recognition function.
Also, users can manually check their heart rate during walking, running, treadmill workouts, indoor cycling, and outdoor cycling using the Samsung Health app. Check out the simple steps to use these features.
Automatic Heart Rate Measurement Feature
Those who prefer an automated approach can use Galaxy Ring to track their heart rate automatically during health activities. To enable this feature, follow these steps:
- Open the Galaxy Wearable App on your smartphone.
- Navigate to the Health Settings within the app.
- Enable the Automatic Exercise Recognition feature.
- Select the exercises you wish to have automatically recognized—currently, walking and running are supported.
- Turn on the exercise recognition for these activities.
Once activated, the Samsung Galaxy Ring will automatically measure your heart rate during walking and running.
Manual Heart Rate Measurement Feature
If you want to have more control over when your heart rate is measured, you can manually track it using the Samsung Health app. Here’s how:
- Open the Samsung Health app on your smartphone.
- Navigate to the More Exercises section and select My Exercises.
- Select the exercise you are performing—walking, running, treadmill, indoor cycling, or outdoor cycling.
- Begin your workout. You can then manually measure your heart rate for the selected exercise.
By following these steps, you can ensure accurate heart rate tracking whether you choose automatic recognition or manual measurement.
We are in October 2024 and Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy A33 5G smartphone, which brings the September 2024 security patch to improve system security and stability. The update is available for users in Brazil and the company will soon expand it to more countries.
September 2024 security update fixes several Samsung and Google vulnerabilities to make the device’s performance smoother. It includes 1 critical issue and 43 high-level ones for Google. One of these issues was already fixed in earlier updates, and another one doesn’t impact Galaxy devices.
In addition, Samsung is adding 23 of its fixes to improve security. These vulnerabilities are mainly related to My Files, Theme Center, One UI Home, Knox, and Dex. This update makes the smartphone more reliable, secure, and stable.
Users of Samsung Galaxy A33 5G are getting a September 2024 security update with One UI build version A336MUBSAEXI8. They will have to download a 262MB package to install the update. It is an initial rollout so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.
If you have received the notification of the update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section.
Now, click on the Download and install option. If any update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install the update on your Galaxy smartphone.
Notably, the update is based on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. This device is eligible for the next major One UI update, One UI 7, based on Android 15. Samsung is going to release a stable One UI 7 in January 2025 along with the Galaxy S25 series. After its debut, Samsung will make its wider rollout for all eligible devices.

Samsung’s recent SmartThings update broke many Galaxy S10 and Note10 devices. Following the reports, the company pulled the update and apologized to consumers. A new release is also reportedly released through Galaxy Store.
Isn’t it too late?
The glitchy SmartThings update led many Galaxy users to lose their data for no reason. As soon as users installed the SmartThings update, their phone was stuck in the boot loop. There’s no solution but to factory reset the device through Recovery.
Samsung acknowledges the recent SmartThings update affected some Galaxy phones running Android 12. We have recently reported problems appearing on Galaxy phones such as the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series.
Samsung revealed that it had stopped updating the SmartThings as soon as it became aware of the issue and working on a solution “as a matter of urgency.” If you have experienced any inconvenience, please contact your nearest service center.
Some Galaxy smartphones running Android 12-based One UI operating system, such as the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 series, have experienced a repeated boot error when updating to the latest version of the SmartThings app.
If you have an idea of factory reset through Recovery, you don’t need to visit the service center. Be aware that you would need to log in with the same Google Account that you were using before factory resetting the device.
Manual data wipe puts Google’s FRP lock for security purposes. In case you don’t have access to credentials, a service center visit is necessary. Samsung may have notified their repair partners to assist you nicely with seamless repairs.
