Rocketing Galaxy Book 3 sales blessed Samsung in South Korea
Samsung exceeded 50 percent of the laptop market share in the first quarter of 2023 in South Korea. All thanks go to the rocketing sales of the Galaxy Book 3 series, which blessed Samsung with the crown of domestic laptop seller in the first quarter in Korea.
According to IDC, Samsung Electronics’ local (Korea) laptop market share ranked first at 52 percent. Since 1995, Samsung Electronics’ local laptop market share has consistently maintained the number 1 market share for sizzling 28 years.

This quarter’s 52 percent is a 16.4 percent increase from the previous quarter, 35.6 percent (1st place) in the fourth quarter of 2022, and a 17.8 percent increase from 34.2 percent (1st place) in the first quarter of last year.
It is the first time in eight years that Samsung’s laptop market share has exceeded 50% since the 51.1% in the first quarter of 2015, further solidifying its overwhelming No. 1 position in the Korean laptop market.

The reason why Samsung’s share in the laptop market has risen significantly is that the newly launched ‘Galaxy Book 3 Series’ in February this year is gaining sensational popularity among consumers.
