Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could introduce big changes in terms of form factor

Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 this August. As we are moving towards the next big unveiling by Samsung, a tipster revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will introduce major form factor changes.
According to Tweeter Revegnus, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come with “major form factor change.” A recent leak revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 won’t bring any notable change in dimension compared to its predecessor.
Now, the new leak hints at significant design change in the Korean tech giant’s 2024 foldable smartphone. It’s noteworthy that Oppo and Google (unreleased) managed to use a different form factor than the Galaxy Fold.
The Find N2 and rumored Pixel Fold feature a tablet-like appearance when unfolded, with reducing the vertical length of the phone. It makes foldable phone handy and somehow solves the concern of the oddly thin cover display.
This is because Samsung will keep the current form factor until Fold 5,
but there will be a major form factor change starting with the Fold 6.
I would recommend waiting for the Fold 6 rather than buying the Fold 5. https://t.co/2YxBajKlvb— Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) April 25, 2023
Droplet hinge could be the spotlight
This year, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be bringing a meaningful upgrade, making it slimmer and lighter than the Fold 4. The new waterdrop-style hinge design is reportedly coming with the next Galaxy Fold, which lets both halves fold flat leaving no gap along with less visible crease.
It’s expected that the South Korean phone maker will begin mass production of hinge elements of its next-gen Galaxy Z foldables in early June. If production begins in the aimed timeframe, Samsung could bring these phones to the market by the end of July 2023.
Recent Leak
Leak revealed that the Z Fold 5 could measure 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.4mm when folded and 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when folded. As there’s a negligible amount of reduction in terms of height, width, and thickness, the weight slashes by 9 grams, making Fold 5 just a 254g phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 launch date tipped
P1: USA
If Samsung continues to hold Unpacked in the US, the tipster believes that the Galaxy Z5 lineup will be introduced on August 2, 2023, at 10 AM (pacific time).
P2: South Korea
Rather than the US, Samsung may promote Busan’s excellency through Unpacked in South Korea this year. If it happens, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5’s Unpacked event could be held on July 25, 2023, at 7 AM (pacific time).
P3: South Korea
It’s possible that Samsung may launch new foldables earlier than the last year. Following this, the late July launch makes sense, while the tipster says August 1st (11 AM PT) could also be the reveal date in South Korea.
