Flagship smartphones including the Galaxy S23, S22, S21, S20, and Note 20 series have also got updated to the March 2023 OTA. In addition, the firmware is also released for a list of Galaxy A and M series devices.

As described by Samsung, the March patch fixes 5 critical and 35 high-level Android flaws by Google. Besides, Samsung made it more important with the inclusion of 23 One UI patches (SVEs) for Galaxy devices.

Earlier, Google’s Project Zero team discovered 18 exposures in Samsung Exynos models, of which 14 are not so critical. However, it’s reported that one of the remaining four severe CVEs may let hackers steal your data with just a phone number.

Google fixed the Exynos modem-related vulnerabilities with its March 2023 Android patch. However, it remains a mystery whether Samsung’s patch included patches for those issues or not, as there’s no mention of those CVEs in the One UI security support patch.

One UI 5.1 update rollout has almost been completed for flagship devices, while budget phones are gradually getting upgraded to the new version. This new iteration comes with plenty of new and useful features that take your smartphone to the next level.

If you’ve received the One UI 5.1 update, the March patch becomes a big deal for your smartphone. Usually, developers include important optimization with new firmware updates over a new operating system or software system upgrade.
