Samsung treats Galaxy Tab S8 with One UI 5.1 update in the UK
Samsung is dispatching the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series devices in the UK. This feature-rich update for your tablet will make multitasking easier on its large screen as well as will add many advanced features that will completely enhance your experience.
On the other side, the company is also installing the February 2023 Android security patch with this major update so that customers can enjoy the latest privacy optimizations and uninterrupted functionality.
Three more major Android updates coming to Tab S8:
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets with Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software out of the box. Later the tablets gained the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update which was the best thing that happened to them as it installed so many tablet-specific features.
Meanwhile, at the end of 2022, Samsung released the first major Android update for the Tab S8 series as Android 13. And, since the devices are eligible for Samsung’s fresh four major Android software update policy, they will get three more major Android updates in the future.

Multitasking:
Being a large-screen device, the most important feature that the Tab S8 series is getting is the improved DeX mode. The company has significantly improved multitasking with this.
In Pop view, you can now adjust the window size by dragging the window edges in any direction. Meanwhile, for split-screen, you will see categories for Recent apps and Most used apps, allowing you to quickly select apps for Split Screen.
Camera and Gallery:
The One UI 5.1 update lets you easily change the color tone of your selfies by selecting Natural or Bright options using the dedicated button on the screen.
Meanwhile, the Gallery app is getting GIF Remaster, Extract Text from the video feature, Detailed view of your photo or video, easier searching and sharing, improved handling, and more.
Widgets:
The fresh update installs a new Battery widget to display your phone and connected devices’ battery status effortlessly. The Dynamic Weather widget provides the current weather support, forecasts, and more. And, the improved Smart suggestion widget now recommends you a Spotify playlist.

In addition to South Korea and Germany, Samsung has now launched the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta in the US. Users of carrier-unlocked or T-Mobile branded Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, or S23 Ultra smartphones can now sign up to get the Beta firmware via OTA.

The inclusion of an interactive map view takes weather tracking to a whole new level. Users can easily navigate around the map, swipe to explore different areas, and tap on locations to instantly access local weather conditions.
The illustration in the weather widget and the pictures in the app present an attractive representation of the current weather conditions. The background colors dynamically change to suit different times of the day to deliver a better weather experience.
