Samsung Galaxy M42 starts receiving One UI 5.1 features and enhancements
Samsung begins to roll out the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy M42 5G smartphone. This new firmware brings some excellent new features and under-the-hood improvements that take your phone to the next level.

Since it’s an M series smartphone, Samsung is also ending major software support for your device with the One UI 5.1. For another year, you will receive new security patches in order to keep your data secure against threats and vulnerabilities.

What’s New?
Samsung One UI 5.1 brings improved animation and visual effects over the One UI 5.0 software. You can also call it a refined variant of Samsung’s Android 13 software upgrade which rolled out in November. There are new features and changes in Gallery, Camera, home screen, and a handful of native functions.
The new Battery widget allows you to check the battery level of your phone, right from the Home screen. You can see how much battery is left on your phone, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and other supported devices. Pay attention, you can now change the folder where screenshots and screen recordings are saved.
One UI 5.1 focuses on improving the usability of the stock camera and gallery apps. Now, you can search your Gallery for more than one person or subject at the same time. Besides, you can search for people without tagging their names just by tapping their faces.
Apart from images, the One UI 5.1 Remaster feature now allows you to remaster GIFs for better resolution and clarity. Moreover, when you swipe up while viewing a picture or video in your Gallery, you can see when and where the picture was taken, which device took the picture, where the picture is stored, and more.

In addition to South Korea and Germany, Samsung has now launched the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta in the US. Users of carrier-unlocked or T-Mobile branded Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, or S23 Ultra smartphones can now sign up to get the Beta firmware via OTA.

The illustration in the weather widget and the pictures in the app present an attractive representation of the current weather conditions. The background colors dynamically change to suit different times of the day to deliver a better weather experience.
